One of the best North Indian homely food available till midnight. Hidden gem inside a grocery store. They recently started the live counters for pani puri, aloo Tikki and paan. It’s a treat to watch the chapati being made in a machine in front of you. The food is really good and would highly recommend trying the chaats like pani puri, aloo Tikki, Bombay sandwich and combo thali and Falooda

Hidden food place inside Indian grocery store India Cash and Carry in Fremont – authentic Indian food just like home-cooked. Each day a new menu. My fav is ‘Kathal’ (Jackfruit) every Fri and sun. Once I went to have kathal for dinner and came to know it got over at lunch itself.
Samosas and Kachoris are my other fav.
Special Thali and Chaat Papri are good. I have posted pictures for your reference.
Last very very affordable (yeah you got it right it’s cheap – $10 for a spl Thali with 3 veg, rice, roti, dessert and what not…) Sssh do not tell the owner…

Other reviews have not been so kind but I like this place because it is cheap and the food tastes good (as an non Indian perhaps my standards are not as high). Jumbo samosas are pretty big and cost a dollar. I sometimes get the chickpeas and yellow dhal. Service is slow but the girls or guys who work are polite.
And one more thing…while standing in line you get to listen to Indian hop hop…which sounds great by the way !

I have been here a few times on a weekly basis. They have a weekly fixed menu .
I have tried almost everything on their meals menu.
The curries, rice and rotis are always good.

Bro, the food here is so cheap. You can get a samosa for less than a dollar which is so rare in the Bay Area. I listed the menu with prices in my review. My only issue was that the doughs were kinda dry, which wasn’t remedied when dipping into various sauces. Will come again though!

Food taste is not to go gaga over. There are many other places with a better ambience serving excellent food for the same price. I observed that food was being served with bare hands by a few employees. Tables are not maintained clean and the customers are asked to wait when asked for the table to be cleaned. I had to request 3 times and keep following it up as we, a family of 7, waited for the dirty tables to be cleaned for nearly 15-20 minutes with the food in our hands. They expect customers to clean the table before and after eating. Finally a person came and did a good job of the table but to my shock and disgust used the same cloth to needlessly wipe the chairs and left as if he had obliged us. I then dragged another chair and sat. Once on a previous visit the bhel puri given was watery soaked in hot chutneys that it was impossible to eat but unlike in India where customers feel free to complain and get justice here all visitors are polite and silent. The rotis brought home 3-4 days back were not fresh, but cold and seen sticking together. The restaurant attitude is overbearing and careless as the owner knows that people will invariably come to try the tempting snacks after getting tired with shopping. I strongly advise the eatery with no ambience
1. to hire a cleaner exclusively for the tables
2. or to remove all tables and make it a to-go eatery
3. not to take customers for granted
4. to improve the taste of all the snacks
5. to reduce the prices in accordance with the service provided
6. to increase the quantity of pickle and raita provided with parathas.
I repeat, Don’t take customers for a ride or for granted.

Used to love their samosa chat and dahi puri. But The quality of food and service has come down significantly after the timings changed to 12.00 a.m. Peer pressure of Apna mandi is just not ruining the business of fellow Indian bazars but also ruining people’s lifestyle and health

Food A+, for vegetarian north Indian food its fabulous, indistinguishable from taste in India. No service or atmosphere to talk of. Bunch of tables in a big grocery store.
Order take out 90% of the time and not found anyone yet who didn’t like the food.
Open till midnight which is just amazing.
