Biggie’s Yardbird food truck is a total game changer! I stumbled across it while out and about, and now I’m officially hooked. The smell alone will pull you in, but it’s the people and the food that will keep you coming back.
Stephanie and Michelle were running the truck like absolute pros — friendly, fast, and full of good vibes. Stephanie helped me figure out what to order (That Chicken Sandwich is out of this world), and Michelle made sure everything was fresh, hot, and perfect. You can tell they both care deeply about what they do, and it shows in every detail.
That Chicken Sandwich is crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor — easily one of the best I’ve ever had. And don’t even get me started on the smash burger… perfectly fried, loaded with flavor, and just the right amount of messy. Pure comfort food heaven.
If you see Biggie’s Yardbird parked at armadillo den, don’t think twice — GO. And make sure to shout out Stephanie and Michelle… they’re the heart and soul of this incredible food truck!

We tried this out at the South Congress Cosmic location. Not sure if it was the pre libated taste buds speaking but this smash burger was all that you would hope for in a smash burger. Flavor, juiciness, and the right amount amount of pan crisp if ya know what I’m sayin’. The bread mashed perfectly with each bite and didn’t at all steal the show. Not too greasy, not dry… it was just right (as Little Goldilocks would say).
Chicken nuggets followed suit as flavorful and juicy. Perfect thickness…or should I say thinness to the batter.
Sad to see that the South Congress Cosmic location is temporarily closed but maybe when in Menchaca we’ll meet again.

Probably the best burgers I’ve had. Unfortunately they changed the menu. $12 burger no longer comes with fries. Instead you have to buy an $8 basket making your combo $24 with tax. Pretty pricey. After ordering I saw the price and mentioned it to the owner. He then reprinted the receipt and threw it down in front me. The guy used to be pleasant and very thankful but that customer service went completely down the drain.

Great place. I love the grilled chicken sandwich but you can’t go wrong with a smash burger. Get a spoon to eat the extra slaw that falls off your burger.

Delicious nuggets! Mine were lemon pepper with a little kick. Light crispy like a cat fish batter! Waffle fries didn’t disappoint either!

This used to be my favorite smash burger in Austin but they’ve raised their prices twice now. $15.50 for one burger (no sides!!!) is pretty ridiculous. $8 basket of fries is also dumb. It used to be $12 burger with a side of fries a year or so ago.

I know Austin has a lot of reality TV that films here, is this some kind of hidden camera show? They act like you’re the idiot when you don’t get any side or sauce with your chicken and have to pay for it.
Then they ask you how many you want with no guidance to what’s appropriate. And when you get too many sauces, even though they know it’s too many, and to go back to order more food they give you such a paltry amount it’s like “why did I even bother?” (See the pic of chicken “and fries”).
It really seems like they want to troll people more than they want to make money, because I can’t imagine they get much repeat business.
Bizarre. Chicken tastes pretty good though, so 2 stars.
Edit: also the menu image that’s on this page is inaccurate. The 10 nuggets don’t come with a side of fries and the “I’m not hungry” is now $5 and might as well not have any fries either. SKIP. THIS. TRUCK.

I can honestly say these Jesus Nuggets are nothing short of divine! Perfectly battered, tender chicken thigh chunks fried to golden perfection — each bite feels like a blessing. Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and seasoned so well you’ll find yourself whispering hallelujah after every mouthful. Under his thigh!
