The Korean Chef is an elevated Korean dining concept by the founders of KIMBOP, built on the same spirit of honesty, warmth, and craftsmanship that earned KIMBOP its loyal following. Guided by Chef Park Uri, The Korean Chef presents Korean cuisine in its truest form — not reinvented, but refined. Each dish is prepared with deep respect for tradition, using time-honored techniques and thoughtfully sourced ingredients to express the natural beauty of Korean flavors. This is not a departure from KIMBOP’s roots, but an expansion of them — a space where care, precision, and sincerity transform familiar dishes into an experience that honors the past while embracing the present.

Everything that they serve is picturesque beautiful with presentation and bursting with flavor and quality. You will have no issues with their dedicated parking and you should not have problems with wait times. You have beautiful paintings from the owner’s brother, that are works of art that add ambience to this very modern Korean restaurant. All of the staff are very attentive and their attention to detail is extraordinary. You will not be waiting for drink refills or extras from the kitchen. Every staff member goes out of their way to enhance your dining experience. If you are lucky, the owner and chef (Ms. Uri) will come out of the kitchen and take the time to visit every table and talk to the customers.
The Korean Chef, along with her other restaurant KimBop are an extension of her passion in cooking and bringing authentic Korean flavors to our growing community. You cannot beat the very reasonable price and the quality is exceptional and you will never need to worry about quantity as you will have unbelievable portions. A picture is worth a thousand words and here are the hand made fried Pork Mandu, homemade Kimchi Jjigae soup and 24 hour marinated Beef short rib Galbi from the grill with all of the perfect banchan accompaniments. I would give this restaurant higher than 5 stars if I was allowed. Please support this exceptional local restaurant as you will not be disappointed and spread its name through word of mouth.
This is from someone who has been to Korea multiple times, and has spent more than a month there enjoying kimchi stew, soft tofu stew, and cold noodles there almost every day.
Although the Kimchi Jjigae here is simple and delicious, and I will come back to order it again, I do wish they would add soft tofu stew and naengmyeon to the menu.
A note about the more refined atmosphere here: It seems like many Korean restaurants these days just play k-pop top 40 on a loop, but here there are no TVs or music videos. Instead there is artwork on the walls, and the music is Korean but more ballads or OST type songs. Thank you for being different.
We started with the Rabokki in a sweet soy sauce and it was fantastic. The sauce had that deep savory sweetness and the rice cakes had the perfect chewy bite. It was one of those dishes where you look down and suddenly realize you have eaten way more than you planned because it is that good.
Then came the Korean fried popcorn chicken in a sweet chili sauce. Crispy on the outside tender inside and the sauce had just the right mix of sweet with a little heat. Just a solid dish all around and really satisfying.
The bibimbop and galbi combo ended up being the highlight. The meat had this amazing glaze that gave every bite a rich slightly sweet flavor and the beef was tender and juicy. The rice was spot on with a perfect texture that tied everything together. The side dishes added so much extra flavor and variety. Each one brought something new to the plate and made the whole meal feel layered and exciting instead of just one note.
The staff was incredibly friendly and genuinely welcoming which made the whole experience even better.
For dessert we tried the bungeo ppang. Crispy super hot right out of the kitchen and filled with a custard that was smooth and not overly sweet. Paired with a Korean coffee it was the perfect finish.
It is honestly awesome having a Korean spot this good in Kendall. Fresh food great flavors a warm atmosphere and a place that feels like it has real heart. Six out of five stars. I cannot wait to go back.
I’m always up for trying new fares and while I’ve had Korean food before, this was honestly one of the most delicious and hearty dinners I’ve had!
There was so much variety in the Royal Steak Bulgogi option, and the rich and authentic flavors reminded me of real deal home cooking by someone who genuinely takes pride in serving a really delicious meal. The bungeo-ppang for dessert was so delicately crispy but thick and rich in the middle, left a really satisfying finish to an already excellent meal.
This place might be relatively new, but I sincerely hope it does well and is successful. The owner makes a real genuine effort and it shows in the cooling. With enough time and work, the staff and support team will keep refining and improving an already good start.
I can’t wait to come back and hope others give the Korean Chef an opportunity to give someone else a taste of real Korean Cuisine.
The staff is extremely friendly, attentive, and courteous and even the chef came out to say hi and check in on every table!! Which is a rarity in Miami to be 100% with you, Google reader. Anyway onto the food!
We had mandu to start with the right level of crisp and filling. It was yummy, But it DOESNT STOP THERE! Onto the main, the pork belly ssam. The portion is HUGE and the banchan is plenty, definitely enough for 2 people to share or I guess if you really are super hungry then go for it the price for this dish is adequate for how much food is given. The pork belly was tender and savory so so good!!!! The combination of the kimchi, ssamjang and pork belly is the BEST. Biting into it, it reminded me when my boyfriend and I went to Busan and ate it there. A small bit of South Korea in Kendall is such a good treat.
Once we were done eating, the waiter asked if we wanted a complimentary coffee which was a nice treat to have in the end. Similar to like cortadito size it was perfect after feeling so full 🙂
I can’t wait to return soon and explore what else is on the menu. 셰프님, 계속해서 좋은 모습 보여주세요!
We ordered Udon-Bokki incredible!!!
We ordered the Emperor feast and it was a feast indeed, DELICIOUS!!! Enough food for at least 5-6 people, good amount of rice too most Korean restaurants skimp on the rice.
My favorite short rib and beef bulgobi soooooo good!!! We are making this our favorite restaurant!!!
