Le Relais de l’Entrecôte is an absolute 5 star experience. From the moment we arrived the staff were genuinely friendly, welcoming, and impressively efficient despite how busy it was. There was a lively atmosphere and the place was packed, but everything ran smoothly and the service still felt personal.

The food was excellent. The salad starter was fresh, crisp, and perfectly balanced, and the steak was cooked exactly how we asked. The meat was tender, full of flavour, and the sauce is honestly the kind you keep thinking about after you leave. The fries were also spot on, hot, crispy, and kept coming.

To finish, the profiteroles were outstanding, light pastry, generous chocolate sauce, and just the right level of sweetness. The crème brûlée was also fantastic with a proper crackly top and creamy centre. Great quality throughout, great value for what you get, and definitely worth the wait.

Highly recommend if you are in Paris and want a classic, delicious meal with a brilliant atmosphere.

Must try!

the famous steak frites! my friends and i went on a wednesday, around 830 and were seated about an hour later. the wait in line was fine, but we were disappointed to wait a bit longer for our food, especially considering they serve one menu. service was quicker for the second serving around, and our dessert was quick as well. the food was delicious and the profiteroles were to die for! i think the food amount varied a bit, but i was happy for the price.

amazing! One of the classic you need to try in France ♥️ although i would say it’s quite busy and overhyped (cause it’s not that good hahaha) but you need to try it once in your life! What i love most is their sauce & fries !! And the servicee is also amazinggg they serve you warm and lovely! The seating on the other hand is too packed you got squeezed in between people and need to move the table to go out (a bit chaotic tbh) but i guess it’s what tourist do in paris! Love it♥️

If you’re willing to wait in line, it’s absolutely worth going. If you’re in Paris, you really should come here at least once.

The standard menu includes fries, salad, and their Paris sauce steak, followed by dessert.

It’s not a place to sit for hours chatting, as there’s usually a long queue outside, but the food makes it worthwhile. Everything is delicious, and I never leave Paris without stopping by. The staff are friendly and welcoming.

It’s definitely a must try spot before leaving the city. Prices are reasonable: you pay a standard per person menu, with dessert and drinks added separately.

Come hungry you’ll leave very full.

Iconic steak frites — simple menu, standout sauce

Le Relais de l’Entrecôte opens at 12 noon, and it’s already queueing by then. We arrived early around 11:30, and there was already a line — clearly a very popular spot.

They keep things extremely simple: they only serve steak frites. When you’re seated, the only thing they ask is how you want your steak cooked. That’s it. The real highlight is their signature sauce — unique, rich, and absolutely the reason people keep coming back. I really loved it.

Efficient, no-frills, and iconic for a reason. Definitely worth trying at least once.

Le Relais de l’Entrecôte is one of those Parisian rites of passage where you don’t book a table, you earn it. You queue. You wait. You people-watch. You start questioning your life choices. Then suddenly, you’re inside and it all makes sense.

The interior is classic Paris bistro bingo: old-school, no-nonsense, charming in a “we’ve been doing this forever, don’t touch anything” kind of way. Service is fair, efficient, and laser-focused, because there’s exactly one thing to eat: steak-frites. No menu drama, no decision fatigue. Meat or… meat.

The famous sauce? Honestly, the real star of the show. Rich, addictive, and doing most of the heavy lifting here. The steak itself is… fine. Nothing to write home about, nothing to cry over either. The fries, unfortunately, arrive a bit overcooked, crunchy taken just a step too far, like they stayed in the fryer while the sauce stole the spotlight.

Desserts, though? Solid. Reliable. Comforting. The kind that makes you forgive everything that came before and leave happy anyway.

So yes, you’ll queue, you’ll eat steak-frites, you’ll love the sauce, you’ll raise an eyebrow at the fries, and you’ll probably say, “Worth it” as you walk back into the Paris streets. And somehow, that’s exactly why this place remains iconic!

Touristy with long lines but the secret sauce was tasty, the service was quick. No nonsense. It’s one of those places with just a simple set menu of steak & fries.

Would I wait in line again for 20-30 minutes for the food? No, definitely not. But it’s worth a visit at least once.

Arrived at 6:30pm queued till 6.50pm on a weekday. You can only order Medium or Well. The steak was tender but the star flavour was the delectable sauce! They’ll refill your second portion after you’re done. The salad dressing horseradish flavour is strong. Overall worth trying!

The food was good, but honestly, nothing spectacular. The queue is insane, minimum 30 minutes up to 2 hours (depending on the time you go). The service is indeed very fast, some of the servers are not very nice, but all things considered, it is a decent spot – clearly overhyped by tourists. Pretty sure you can find better entrecôtes in more intimate restaurants around Paris, as this is the signature dish for any authentic Parisian restaurant.

Overall: 4.5/5

I will echo the common consensus online which is that its worth a visit, but not worth waiting hours in line for. We arrived around 19:00 and waited 90 minutes on a Sunday evening. There is no menu other than for drinks and dessert. The service was to the point and efficient and the atmosphere was historical and charming.

As for the food you are served a mustardy walnut salad as a starter which I quite enjoyed, albeit a bit strong (personal preference). The steak and frites itself was a 4/5. Tried both rare and medium and preferred the medium. Fries were crisp and paired well with the tangy, shellfish-reminiscent sauce. Slight let down on the steak. Generous portions however and you get a refill. Personally, the highlight food-wise was the creme brulee, an absolute 5/5. Creamy, sweet and delicious. Would come again either earlier or much later (~30 min wait).

Total price: €29*2 + €8 = €66,00
