Miso Hummus–that hummus was absolutely great, silky, well balanced with miso and berries. Basil Pistou broke all the flavors ideally.
Chilean Sea Bass–cant never go wrong with good sea bass, cooked to perfection, very delicate. Served with asparagus, radishes was a very light dish. Very wine friendly.
Yucatan Tacos–Rostaed pork tacos with habanero salsa a very well done Mexican cuisine classic. Reminded me of Tulum, very comforting. A little less salt on the meat would be perfect.
Filet Mignon–every steak loving person can get satisfied with this dish. Garlic potato puree, cipollini cherry wine reduction was great pairing.
Mushroom Tostatdas–those tostadas were great, all the flavors packed together. Absolutely delicious.
Desserts:
Pistachio Berry tart–I think that is their flagship pastry dish and is fantastic. We do not eat deserts very often but killed this one quickly, not to sweet and chocolate was not overwhelming either. Gooseberry tart gave it nice sour kick.
We had a bottle of great white wine which is reasonably priced. Our friends drank few old fashioned and the were well made, strong, aromatic. One big ball of ice would make it an ideal classic 😉
Cant wait to go back again to check the duck dish and enjoy the food again.
The meal started with the Executive Chef coming out and serving the amuse-bouche. At that point we knew we were in for a treat. It was a tart made with blue cheese and a fermented blueberry compote on the top. Then a honey sauce in a little dispenser you could squeeze on yourself. Divine! At that point we decided we wanted to order as many items as possible to try.
We had the Turkish Deviled eggs and they were amazing. Cannot tell you what all was on it. But we wanted to lick the plate. Then the Watermelon and Tomato salad – which was light and flavorful. For dinner I ordered the Ribeye MR to Rare and it came out perfect!!! My husband had the Lamb Chops with raspberry sauce on them – amazing! The ribeye was in a red wine reduction that I could drink. For dessert we ordered the GooeyButter cake. It was not gooey – but very firm and almost dry – but the texture and the flavor was outstanding – just think it is named wrong.
I asked to have the Executive Chef return to the table so I could compliment him. I shared that we travel the world, are kind of like foodies and this was one of the top meals I have EVER eaten. Truly amazing!!
The location on the lake is perfect. We plan to try out the hotel next time we are in town.
Go there!
Fantastic French Marguerita which can be hard to find done right, well balanced and didn’t overdo on the Chambord
Thank you for a great experience at our newly found getaway
This is a destination spot — only ten minutes from Lake Geneva beach but worlds away from the madness and dirty atmosphere you’ll often see on busy Lake Geneva weekends.
The view here on Como Lake is better than Lake Geneva, the service is 100x better than the restaurants in the main town, and the atmosphere is amazing, with guests willing to let their shirt sleeves out and take another button out to enter the full splendor of vacation relaxation.
I hope I can come back after they’re officially open later in July 2020. As Chicagoans we don’t get up here enough, but we both agree we will make the 90 minute drive just for the fantastic customer service.
The Savoy restaurant is a beautiful, romantic and full of history place. I would definitely recommend for anyone who’s looking for hidden gem around Lake Geneva
