Was very disappointed in the food. Had heard about this place from others, so we tried it on Valentines Day for dinner. Service was decent, but appetizers failed to meet expectations.

UPDATE: In response to the Owners request for more details:

1. The Steak Involtini ($15) was very tough, gristly, chewy meat that required cutting with a knife just to eat. Very low quality meat.

2. The Carpaccio ($24) wasn’t terrible, but usually served with more meat, less greens. Also, for customers not familiar with this dish, might want to mention that it is served cold & as a salad (IMO).

3. The Stuffed Meatballs ($19) were bland & lacked any flavoring at all.

Overall, the atmosphere was sterile & seating was way too close together, focused more on profit than ambiance. However, the server was nice.

Most of the lower reviews also complained about the quality or taste of the food, so I don’t think our review was too harsh.

Also noticed that you recently posted an opening for a cook on a job board (picture included), so maybe that explains the food.

Hope this was helpful & good luck to your business going forward.

What a warm and cozy place to enjoy a chilly Saturday night. From the delicious craft cocktails to the scrumptious salmon and risotto, La Ragazza did not disappoint. The service was top notch as well. Highly recommended.

My wife and I went there for the first time based on a recommendation and it was excellent! We were greeted right away and sat at our table promptly.

Our waitress Tia was phenomenal! I recently had my knee replaced and because of the height of the chairs, I needed something to put my foot on. It was an odd question to ask, but I needed something that I could put my foot on so my knee would not hurt. She went and found a box and even put it underneath the table for me, she was excellent!

The food was very, very nice. The atmosphere is incredible! We loved being able to sit by the front window and the decorations that they did for Valentine’s Day. We will definitely be back and we will definitely be recommending this place. Don’t miss it!

What an amazing evening. This was our second time dining and it won’t be our last. Went for my husband’s birthday. Showed up early to enjoy a cocktail at the bar. Apps and dinner so good, we didn’t want to finish in order to have some of it later. Wishing we would have saved room for dessert. Will be sure to order it regardless next time.

We just came from the winery across the street and wanted to try this newer place. Great atmosphere. Beautiful view of the Mississippi until it got dark.
Ordered a little conservatively this time. Creamy sausage soup and wedge salad excellent. Salad had a nice peppercorn dressing. Sausage pasta and grilled cheese my wife had were really good, not great. Oil tasted a little funky for bread.
Service was excellent.
Bench seating hard.
When we come back, I will try something else and could be 5 stars, maybe.

In the heart of the charming river city, La Ragazza is a gem that captures the essence of Italy with every bite. From the moment you step inside, the warm and ambience invites you to relax and savor the moment…and the gentle hum of the river just outside set a magical tone.

The menu is a love letter to classic Tuscan flavors, with handmade pastas and rich sauces, that are as beautiful as they are delicious. The staff are attentive and genuinely passionate, offering thoughtful drink pairings and heartfelt recommendations.

Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply soaking in the atmosphere over a glass of Chianti, this kitchen delivers an unforgettable dining experience. A true treasure for locals and visitors alike.

Below in the photo is the size portions that you used to receive. Their bowls now are so tiny that you don’t even get full with your dinner. We paid $19 for a small salad with zero protein. Prices compared to portions are not good anymore. This used to be one of our favorite spots. We went last week, split a salad, an entree and my husband had one beer and it was over $60. And on top of that we left hungry. So sad how the portions have gone down especially when pasta is inexpensive to make.

The staff was very knowledgeable about gluten-free and offered several options. They were absolutely amazing so polite. I had the Salmon Primavera they used gluten free rigatoni noodles. The dish was OVER THE TOP the best dish I have ever eaten! They even offered a gluten free dessert option of their gelato. They have options of vanilla, chocolate and salted caramel.

I’m really sad to rate this place so low, but I have no choice. It is beautiful inside with clean kitchen, clean bathroom and comfortable seating. But the food was really bad. The panini was made with cheap bread and over cooked and tasteless, with slimy old arugula and dry goat cheese. The spaghetti and meatballs were subpar. Wait staff seemed uncomfortable at their jobs.

My husband and I are on a road trip and made an overnight stop in Le Claire, Iowa. Found this gem of a restaurant for dinner. We were wowed!! First of all, the moment we walked in, the Tuscan vibe was warm and elegant. Husband wanted the back room to watch the river, sat in the corner. Colorful and cozy. Great view of the Mississippi River. Now for the food. I ordered the March special Flounder. Came with a side of roasted vegetables. It was perfect! So delicious! He ordered the Salmon Primavera. He absolutely loved it and devoured every bite! Perfect combination of flavors, wasn’t heavy or overdone. The salmon was cooked to perfection! Wednesdays are 1/2 price bottles of wine, so we enjoyed a bottle of Chardonnay. Great deal. Service was excellent! Hope to be passing through this way again, and this adorable restaurant will be a must stop!!
