First time here and everything was great from start to finish. I really enjoyed the salsa I’ve tried a lot of Mexican restaurants in the area and all over the USA and this salsa was actually very good! Everyone in our party truly enjoyed our meal. I really wanted to try the fried ice cream but they were out!

By far the meat Mexican restaurant in town. You get a huge bowl of complimentary chips with salsa right when you’re seated. We ordered the combo plate and California burrito. The burrito was outrageously large it was almost comical but best part is, it was still delicious. Our drinks were constantly full and we received our food within 15 minutes of ordering. Will definitely be back.

We’ve been twice and extremely happy both times. With a dozen Mexican restaurant options in this area, Ponchos stands out. Food was good, portions large and most important, the friendliest staff of any restaurant in town. The owner even came to our table today and asked if we needed more chips and salsa. Super nice guy. Our new spot!

Met with friends to try the newest Mexican restaurant in Beaufort. Food was fresh and hot, salsa & chips tasty and beer fresh. They did a nice remodel and it’s now bright and airy. There is bar area setting also.

The food was amazing! The atmosphere and the service was great! I got handmade corn tortillas, and later that night they had a DJ event going on, I stayed for a little while and it was pretty fun too. I’m definitely coming back!

Disgusting. Only good thing was the margarita. Salsa from a can and guacamole tasted like flour. Didn’t even eat much of my food. But a least I got food. My friend didn’t even get her dish and then they tried to charge her for it! See photo of my mess

Unfortunately, our experience was pretty disappointing. The service was mediocre at best, especially considering it wasn’t a busy night. Items came out very inconsistently. One water at a time, then drinks separately, and the queso didn’t arrive until nearly the same time as our meals.
Timing was a big issue overall. We finished our food before my son even received his two tacos. When they finally arrived, they were cold and the meat was wet, almost as if it had been thawed quickly and placed straight onto the tortilla. It definitely wasn’t what we expected.
The food itself was just okay, but honestly it was probably the weakest Mexican food we’ve had in town. I’m glad others have had good experiences, but ours fell well short of expectations. Hoping this was just an off night, but based on this visit, we were not impressed.

I got the Queso birria, a bluerita and a horchata. Let me start, their chips and salsa are probably one of the best I’ve ever had. Just the right amount of him and the tortilla chips were so fresh. As for the margarita, Delicious. Now the torta queso birria was PHENOMONAL. The bread was soft and the meat tender. Loved it. If it weren’t for only being here for graduation day for MC. It would easily become an all time favorite

One of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve ever experienced. Huge menu, everything is fresh, delicious, and well seasoned. It’s family-owned; our server was a family member of the manager. The dining area is spacious, clean, and nicely decorated — same for the rest rooms. The prices are also very good; we shared complimentary chips and salsa, a generous dinner entree, two sides, plus two beverages each during happy hour for $38 plus tax and tip.
