I stopped in for a quick bite, and the staff was genuinely very sweet, even with how busy they were. I ordered the firecracker shrimp with rice, and the whole dish just didn’t land for me. The rice was a bit hard and bland, and the shrimp batter had no real flavor, so the entire plate came out dry and under-seasoned. A little more sauce or seasoning would have made a big difference.
I also asked about the bento box since I don’t really eat California rolls but they did offer deep-fried for $1 more, so I asked if they could deep-fry the California roll instead, but I was told no, which was confusing.
Maybe I ordered the wrong item because the service itself was really kind, but this particular dish wasn’t it for me.

I got steamed rice, spring Rolls, gyoza, crab rangoons, and crunchy shrimp roll, with a diet coke. It was all delicious. The flavor was fresh and seasoned just right. It was hot and fast.

I work nearby and frequent this restaurant often. The food is always fresh, done quick and the space is always clean! The employees are really nice and usually check to make sure you’re enjoying yourself and food. Love this place!

I order steak hibachi well done steak n veggies . This lady tried to argue me down that I said no veggies .! On the receipt it says well done steak n veggies .! One she couldn’t speak English. Then what she didn’t know is I speak Spanish . She gonna go to the back telling the cook I didn’t order veggies now she wants veggies .! Girl just say you couldn’t read English.!

Literally having to write this review before i eat because it’s sooooo good! I had Otoro Hibachi in Hoover once before and it wasn’t very memorable. This location, however, is doing everything right! My boyfriend and I dined in this last sunday and everything was amazing. The calamari was light and crispy, not rubbery and overcooked, breading was seasoned just right. Our crab rangoons had so much filling, they were delightful. Our chicken and steak bento boxes had great portions. The lady at the register was very pleasant. I was so pleased with the food and service, i decided to order on uber eats to see if i would receive the same quality. This time i ordered the same things, plus noodles for my toddler, as well. I am happy to say this meal is just as amazing. I received my extra sauces and my special request for “no edamame, extra veggies” on my bento box was honored. I am so glad this place has come to Homewood! I will say this, in regards to another review i read, don’t expect hibachi steakhouse quality when you are not paying hibachi steak house prices. $11 for a chicken bento box is a great deal for great, quick food!

My work friends and I ate lunch here yesterday. The restaurant was clean and the ordering process was quick. Our food came out quickly and was hot and fresh. I got the shrimp Bento box. For the price, it was so much food and it was delicious. I loved that you can make cups of the sauces you want to try. Everything was great. I’m usually underwhelmed by edamame but even that was great.

It’s good, I mean if I want to go somewhere then and spend money like on a hibachi place I’m going to go where they cook on your table.. but if you’re not interested in anything like that, then if you just want just the food and you don’t care anything about the cooking on your table then this is the place to go. They got a great outdoor area

Very displeased with customer service the employee at the register on Sunday 11/23/2025, between 3:30 and 4:30, was very rude. She called me out of name and said and order was not for me when I tried to pick it up. Felt very unsafe and racism was involved. Wouldn’t recommend anyone going their for a nice meal.
