Stopped by on a Saturday night out with a friend and was very satisfied with every aspect of the restaurant. Decour was great and the artwork all around was beautiful. Even had old surf photos of Duke in the bathrooms which was a nice touch. Had the poke with a side of teriyaki chicken and really enjoyed it. Had two of their tiki drinks that our server/bartender Mike recommended, a Painkiller and a Jungle Bird. Their Painkiller was def better than the one I make at home and I was super thrilled to try a Jungle Bird as I had never had one before and it did not disappoint. Will most definitely be back here many times to come. Perfect place to bring friends or family that aren’t huge tikiphiles as there is enough variety in drinks and food to satisfy the whole family, and hopefully convert some rum haters. Mike was a great server, giving us some history on rum and recommendations for some books with both tiki and general cocktail history. What a great way to start super bowl weekend. Cheers!

Having grown up in Hawaii, I was pretty excited for this new restaurant. The food was good but more Asian/Hawaiian fusion than truly authentic, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Poke on the tacos were good. Kalbi was cooked perfectly with a nice amount of char. Even the potatoes salad was great. Miso salmon was fantastic. Full bar and nice selection of wines and craft beers. Will definitely be back.

We came here because we had a gift card. The ambiance was great! Excellent welcome…and it was all downhill from there. We had to ask 2x just for water. The kids menu was a great idea but poorly executed (minus the strawberry and pineapple dole whip it came with!) I ordered the shrimp curry and it was barely edible. My hubs ordered the macadamia crusted fish and it was very mediocre. We didn’t buy alcoholic drinks, so we got less attention to than the rest of the customers. Def will not be back.

Kimo steak, garlic shrimp and poke bowls are just the beginning. Will definitely be back to try the whole menu. Fun tropical vibes and tasty Hawaiian food.

I was excited to hear that a new tiki restaurant had opened in Danville, so my boyfriend and I, along with a friend, decided to check it out last night.

The drinks were decent—not particularly strong or memorable, but they were enjoyable and probably the highlight of the evening.

Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to expectations. The menu offered standard Hawaiian fare, but the execution was lacking. My poke bowl had barely any flavor, and the presentation felt rushed and uninspired. The kalbi was overcooked and tough, and it was served with cold rice—which was surprising and unappetizing for a dish that’s usually warm and comforting. The pork sandwich was another disappointment, missing both flavor and sauce, making it dry and forgettable.

Overall, while I appreciated the concept and was hopeful for a fun tiki dining experience, the food left a lot to be desired. I wouldn’t rush back anytime soon.

The quality of the food is poor, but the drinks were good. Mediocre loco moco, foul smelling pineapple slaw, substandard kimchi, and the spam musubi had a thin slice of spam and lots of white rice and sauce. We went to Kaia’s because we had an amazing experience during their soft opening. The ambiance reminded us of a Lahaina restaurant.

During our last visit though, the quality of the food significantly deteriorated that we thought they had a change of ownership or chef. Good thing the drinks were good. We ordered Altamont Maui Wowie and the Painkiller. I do not recommend this place to anyone looking for great tasting Hawaiian food.

I came here late on a Sunday night just looking for a night cap. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating and the drinks were great. Loved the atmosphere of the outside seating area. Can’t wait to come back for dinner. Would highly recommend!

Great location, decor and vibe, but the food was mediocre at best. I had the loco moco for lunch bc nothing says island food like a loco moco.

The rice was al dente instead of soft all the way through, the hamburger patty looked like the preformed sirloin burger from Costco, and the egg was hard and not runny. The gravy tasted like it came from a package and was salty. I really wanted to like it bc I love island food, but it was disappointing.

Our waiter was great and the vibe was cool. Didn’t try the drinks but my wife likes mai tai’s, so we might try that next time.

Really fun spot! The cocktails are excellent and I loved my shrimp and rice bowl. I will definitely be back. The atmosphere was fun and lively, although a bit noisy for part of it and the chairs we got were a bit uncomfortable. Overall, great experience.

Love the ambiance and decor. Love that there is a tiki bar in Danville!

For food we had the truffle burger, salmon, and loco moco. I would pass on the loco moco next time, the gravy tasted Worcestershire flavored- wasn’t what I was looking for. But I hope the dishes improve in the future! I will be back for the ambiance and tropical drink selection 🙂
