Since opening our first location nearly a decade ago on Newport Beach’s iconic peninsula, Sessions West Coast Deli has redefined the idea of a neighborhood sandwich shop. Sessions was brought to life from a collaboration between highly driven Orange County born and raised dreamers-slash-entrepreneurs Matt Meddock, Beckham Thomas, and Chef Max Schlutz. The food was and is always so very satisfying. Though I tend to often order the same items, I am never disappointed and someday will branch off.
This review is one I feel you would want to receive as it is about the service. Always a welcoming environment with employees who seem very happy to be there and to welcome customers. This visit was a big change. Unfortunately I do not know her name but if she likes what she’s doing I would be surprised…no hello, no smile, if it hadn’t been for the food I would have left to find another place for lunch at the mall.
Though my lunch deserved at least a 4 out of five I could not enjoy it as I usually would based on the experience this. time.

It’s got roast turkey, creamy Haas avocado, zesty chimichurri, crisp cucumber, marinated tomatoes, and peppery wild arugula, all piled high on a perfectly toasted French roll. It’s a must-try if you’re looking for something new! And those rosemary fries? They’re the perfect side – seriously, the ideal complement, especially when you pair them with that basil aioli. Trust me, it’s a flavor explosion!

The food quality and freshness is worth twice what we paid. We went on a Sunday afternoon and they have live music. The singer has a great range and sang a variety of songs. She should be on the Voice. But back to how tasty the food, I had the spicy chicken sandwich and it was the best. You have to order the Rosemary skinny fries, full of flavor. This place is our new to go to place on Sunday. You must give it a try.

This review is long overdue! We’re huge fans of Sessions and have been for a couple years!! Their food is always delicious, fresh and consistent no matter what location you go to. We go to the mission viejo location the most— Last night the sweetest employee helped us, such a bright beautiful smile and she was SO wonderful! We forgot to get her name but wanted to give her a shout out!! Their new selection of wine/beer is soo good!! 🙂

First off, the waitress working today was so kind and courteous. The beer selection and hibiscus hard cider is okay. The rosemary fries are delicious and more than worth it! The sauce is amazing.

I don’t understand why more people aren’t going here. The company should be promoting itself. But while they are still there (because I didn’t see any foot traffic) I guess I can enjoy no crowds, delicious food and fantastic atmosphere. Rather than going to the food court, or the exhausted menu of Cheesecake Factory next door, give this place a try. I saw people peeking their heads in and afraid to go in, I’m sure because no one was in there. I went in for the first time last night and was glad I did!
