LADIES NIGHT OUT! My 2 Comadres and I tried D’s Cantina Friday night for the1st time. We weren’t expecting much but were plesantly surprised with our experience. We arrived at 7:30 pm. The bar was full of customers but the resturant area was quiet, except for the late 60’s/ 70’s throwback rock soundtrack playing (Our type of music) That instantly set the mood for us “Dinuba High Class of 75” graduates. The cute waitress promptly greeted us with a smile and delivered the “BEST MANGO MARGARITAS” we have ever tasted. And we’ve had a few. Lol! as we were ordering dinner the chef came to our table and kindly went over the menu with us. Everyone was so kind & personable. Even Dominique, the owner. As dinner was being prepared, we munched on their excellet home made Chips & Salsa, a teaser that had us anticipating our Chile Verde Nachos & Flautas. As we sat in this nostalgic building, formerly known as “Conklin’s Clothing – A landmark – where most of Dinuba shopped for cool threads, jeans & brushed bellbottom Cords, to name a few, one good oldie hit after an other was appropriate for a ladies night out on the lil town of Dinuba.
Dinners served! WOW! That was quick! Perfectly crunchy Homemade Nacho Chips Smothered in Scrumptious tender Chile Verde. I was impressed! We were impressed! This young chef’s cooking held a candle to my own. And I rarely say that. My 3rd girlfriend also praised the chefs Flautas. I didn’t taste them but all I heard was Ummm! Ummmm! This is so good! Great! Bahaha!
THE SERVICE WAS GREAT, THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS, THE MUSIC WAS PERFECTLY OURS!
Around 9:30ish, a DJ appeared and man! Did they drop a dime on their sound system.The lights were flashing, music thumping and we started shaking. Lol! It was difficult to stay in my seat. Soon, the young crowd rolled in as we were exiting and the landscape rapidly changed to a party and a dance floor. I loved seeing such a diverse customer. Speaking with Dominique, he shared of the awesome headliner to play there & karaoke/open mics on Thursdays as well as much more entertainment to come. I already booked my club meeting on the 2nd floor.
I rate D’s Cantina a 5 star for all these reasons:
Finally we have a cool place to “Dine, Drink, Dance with Diversity” The name “D’s”Cantina” is appropriate. We’ll be back! Hope you visit, tell them Sherry sent you!
