I’d love to start on a high note because there is so much to like here! Our overall experience was wonderful, and the staff members were absolutely lovely, warm, attentive, and welcoming.
The Food
The kitchen is definitely doing something right.
• Matcha Strawberry Sando: This was the star of the show. The cream is incredible perfectly smooth and rich without overpowering the freshness of the strawberries.
• Chicken Teriyaki Sando: Very tasty! The flavor profile is bold, though I’d love to see a bit more cabbage added to the build next time to provide a crunchy balance to the heavy sauce.
A Note on the Coffee
Everything else was so lovely that the coffee stood out as an area for improvement. I know this isn’t a dedicated “coffee first” shop, but the drinks were unfortunately quite watery.

Decided to check this place out because I am Matcha obsessed and I was in a purple kinda mood I tried the Witch Matcha Latte which for me was underwhelming unfortunately. I also tried the Purple Sweet Potato Fries and hunty {clap, clap} now we are onto something . They have a tempura coating and they served them with maple syrup . The barista was really nice and welcoming which helps because we came from across the Bay Bridge just to check this place out.

Great atmosphere with plenty of seating. Tried the matcha matcha latte and the matcha strawberry sando. Both were delicious and will come back to try the other lattes and sandos in the future. Highly recommended cafe in the Kentlands area.

We having been looking for a place that serves Japanese Sandos and came across Neko Nook. This is a nice little “cafe” and we were lucky to find a place to sit during our visit. The place was busy throughout our visit with a mix of dine in and takeout customers. Placing the order was easy and food was ready is a reasonable time as well.
Here is a review of the dishes we ordered
Strawberry Sando – very good and perfectly made
Matcha Strawberry Sando – very good and perfectly made
Hambagu Sando – the sando was good as well – the flavors were good though a tad bit on the weaker side
Shrimp Shumai – good shumai and nice crispy shell
Berkshire Pork Gyoza – this was a good dish as well
Teriyaki Chicken Bento – probably the weakest flavors of all the dishes we tried
Beef Bento – a good dish

The free sando chips were a good addition to the meal as well!

This is a good food option in the area!

Don’t listen to the negative reviews. This place was so so cute and the staff were very pleasant. We got a variety of sando’s to try. Ramen, egg, the strawberry and strawberry ube. Absolutely phenomenal. The ramen sando was actually our favorite and took us by surprise. The veggies in it just took it to a different level. Was definitely worth the 45 minute drive from Frederick lol.

Very cute place with Japanese sandos (sandwiches)! The teriyaki chicken and ube strawberry sandos were both delicious!
The OG Tamago Sando was a bit underwhelming compared to similar sandwiches I’ve had in Japan, so I’d recommend the cream or meat sandos instead!
You may have to wait for your order for a bit because they can get pretty busy (they had lines going out the door when they opened!) but staff gives care to every order and does their best!

I stopped by their soft opening, and this place is so adorable! Their people are so nice, and the atmosphere was so calming and relaxing. I tried the egg salad sando with a side of the purple sweet potato fries. The bread was so soft and the fries were so hot and crispy. I can’t wait to try the other food!

Having been to Japan 8 times, i think the food here is just okay. They use Pasco bread which is pretty good brand of shokupan. The fruit sandon was a little awkward to eat tho and quite pricey. Tamago sando could use more kewpie mayo or sweetness. Just tastes like american egg salad instead of what you would get in the konbini

My biggest complaint was the wait time. I went on a Monday during lunchtime and it took literally 30min to get two sandos for takeout. Another customer was also told it would take a while. No one said sorry or anything . My sando was just sitting on the counter waiting to be placed in the takeout bag…

the staff members are kind, and the food is delicious. my friend and i went to complete some work projects, and we felt comfortable.

portions are smaller given the prices; nonetheless, i would recommend people visit. you feel refreshed after eating the food here as opposed to full and bloated. i ended up purchasing two drinks in one visit because it’s just that good.
