Excellent service. Warm and welcoming. The restaurant seemed a bit empty but it was a Monday night. This place is BYOB so we brought a bottle of wine. Everyone greeted us upon entering and it was great. We were seated right away in another room. It was nice to have the space to ourselves. The waitress was observant and brought wine glasses over right away and asked if she could cork our bottle. We ordered the agadashi tofu (a personal favorite anywhere), the sushi for 2 and two other rolls. Each piece was delicious and I especially loved the sweet potato roll. Yum! We will be back for our next sushi craving.

The service was fantastic! I really enjoyed the variety in the Sushi Deluxe. Nice variety of appetizers.

Great sushi at a rather unsuspecting location. Excellent service. And be sure to ask for a beer or glass of wine with your meal (gratis). Specialty rolls are always excellent, creative, and BIG! But if you’re a sushi fan, then you’ll be pleased to know that the balance of fish and rice is excellent.

Foods are fresh and nice. Cozy and warm feeling atmosphere. Crews are very kind.
I had Sushi and Sashimi, Beef teriyaki, Chicken katsu. Great for family with kids.
Definitely one of the best Japanese restaurants around town.

Really nice staff with the owner always there. Really good traditional food that’s quite fresh. Nice sushi bar as well as normal seating. Not a bad price for what you’re getting too.

Been eating at this place for over 10 years, second generations owner. Great sushi, great service, very warm friendly staffs. The previous late owner was so kind and sweet, now is his son’s turn to run the joint, like father like son. Great people. We love them so much, support them as much as we can, we have celebrated many birthdays and others special occasions.

The food is generally very good. We have been here at least a dozen times. However, tonite the dumplings which were suppose to have shrimp and pork, had neither. No one that we spoke with could care less. I cannot ever return to a place where no one cares what is going on. Now, seems like a conveyor belt.

If I owned a place like that, I would at least listen to the patrons.

Great overall experience. Stopped by with family first time. Wasn’t too crowded & service was great. We had a group of almost 10 people & everyone enjoyed their food. Sushi was fresh! Enjoyed the Ginger Dressing Salad. We would definitely recommend.

Covid-19 Review: We just moved to the Narberth area and had dinner on a Saturday night with another couple. We were sat outside to which I give this place credit for making it very cozy with astro turf and string lighting. The only negative is that with nights getting cooler it was freezing outside and no heat lamps in sight to keep us warm.

The service was pretty quick and generous portions of soy sauce and spicy mayo are appreciated. We also appreciated the BYOB aspect and brought two wine bottles that were opened for us. The table ordered the sushi for 3 combo and it was over 30+ pieces of sushi plus miso soup or house salad and a side of fire rolls. It was plenty food and mostly solid not outstanding in flavor. I ordered the sweet potato rolls and the chicken teriyaki dish which was sweet but very generous portion and chicken had nice taste and texture.

Overall, a great local BYOB for pretty good sushi, would not say the best I’ve ever had but you can’t go wrong if you are having a craving and want to eat out with family or friends. pricing was fair for quality and quantity of food.

I love Gin Za, and have gone there for about 20 years, since Mr. Sung opened it after renovation of the former gas station, which had been vacant for a few years. It is a very friendly place and the food is very consistently excellent. During the week it is often quiet and peaceful, and it has been my “home cooking” after work when my wife is out of town. I was very saddened by Mr. Sung’s death in Feb. 2016, but his son Kyun has carried forward the atmosphere & culture of the place, and it is always pleasant to chat with him about our families. I highly recommend making Gin Za your regular place for very enjoyable Japanese food and relaxation!
