I had an incredibly frustrating experience at Hardee’s the other morning. My order was completely incorrect, and the customer service I received was unacceptable.
I ordered three breakfast sandwiches but only received two (though I was only charged for two), and I ordered a large drink but was given a small one (and charged correctly for the small size). The biggest issue, however, was with my order of 10 apple pies. They were advertised as two for $1.50, which should have totaled $7.50, but I was charged $13.50 instead.
I was told there would be a 9-minute wait for the pies, which I understood. I paid for my order and received my sandwiches and drink while waiting, meaning my food got cold before I even received the pies. When the employee brought out my pies, I pointed out the overcharge. She took my receipt to the general manager, who sent her back with only 65 cents in change, insisting that was all I was owed.
I explained that I was overcharged by $6, but I was told I needed to go back through the drive-thru to discuss it. When I did, the manager, Yolanda, yelled at me from across the restaurant, telling me I would not block her drive-thru and that she didn’t owe me anything. I informed her that I was only following the instructions given to me by her employee, and she then demanded I come inside. After working a 12-hour shift, I was exhausted and refused to go inside, so she agreed to meet me out front.
When she came out, she claimed that her computer showed $13.50 for 10 pies, so that was the correct price. I pointed to the sign advertising two pies for $1.50, which clearly totaled $7.50, and even explained that, at the regular price of $1 per pie, the total still wouldn’t be $13.50. She refused to listen, repeatedly insisting that if the computer said $13.50, then that was the price, and I would not be getting a refund.
I then asked for the corporate number, and she claimed the location had no corporate office. At that point, I left and looked up the information to make this review.
This entire experience was beyond disappointing. Not only was I overcharged, but the way I was treated by the manager was unacceptable. Yelling at a customer, refusing to honor the advertised price, and then dismissing my request for a refund is unprofessional and dishonest. I will not be returning to this location, and I sincerely hope upper management takes action to correct these issues.
To support my claims, I have included a photograph of my receipt and a photograph of the sign on the building advertising the correct price. I hope this proof highlights the unfair treatment I received and helps prevent this from happening to others.
Recent visit they were really busy Saturday at breakfast. They done good. Still got my order right, hot and fresh as always.
