Sanctuary on the Square absolutely blew us away. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere struck the perfect balance between elevated and welcoming — modern American cuisine done with confidence and creativity.
The Fried Green Tomatoes were next-level. Perfectly crisp on the outside, tender inside, and layered with flavor — not just a starter, but a statement. The Ahi Tuna Bites were insanely good — fresh, clean, beautifully balanced, and packed with flavor in every bite. You can tell the kitchen knows exactly what it’s doing.
And the Southern Biscuit Sandwich? Unreal. Buttery, flaky biscuit with rich, savory fillings that made it genuinely hard to put down. Comfort food elevated to something unforgettable.

Hands down my new favorite spot in Gainesville! My girlfriend and I came here to celebrate our anniversary, and our experience was nothing short of amazing. Not only did the owner Tony come over to personally congratulate us, he made us the most delicious drinks! The staff also all signed an adorable card for my girlfriend and I. The food being amazing was just an additional bonus. We came for the food, but we were blown away by the hospitality and amazing customer service by everyone who helped us tonight. Our server had a great sense of humor, I wish we recalled his name to shout him out personally. But to our server who said not many places know how to make a proper salmon, you were right. Hands down the best salmon I’ve ever had. I could keep raving about this place for hours 10/10 recommend, and cannot wait to come back soon!

OMG OMG OMG the food was off the chain. We had never been there before and was nervous. We wanted to go someplace new and close and it ended up being the perfect place to eat. My guys and I took a long time looking at the menu but finally made a choice, I got the classic smash burger with added feta cheese and truffle fries, my guy got a half order of Brussel sprouts, crab cakes and steak bites, all fabulous choices. I hate Brussel sprouts and when I saw them it was the most beautiful plate of food I ever saw and had to have a small bite. The steak bites I even had to try. Off the chain good my burger was good it needed something not sure what maybe I needed to add a tomato or pickle or something but was really good, I did not try the crab cakes I don’t like textures like that but my guy made the yummy good sound when he took his first bite so all in all the good was to perfection in my opinion. The service was a little slow and the atmosphere was cozy and a little romantic. Great choice of music. That you for such a great night out.

I went there last year and can still remember the wonderful experience I had dining and dancing at this establishment. Although I did not take the chance to try the dinner, every plate that passed by smelled and looked incredibly appetizing. I did enjoy a deliciously rich chocolate peanut butter tart recommended by Micah. The experience wouldn’t have been the same without the expert knowledge of Gina, who was able to surprise us with cocktails based on my friends and I were feeling and give us information on how the ingredients were chosen for our drinks!

We started with the to-die-for Brussels sprouts with goat cheese… OMG. I would come back for those alone.
My husband ordered the patty melt (classic, perfectly done), and I had the S&S signature salad with steak and truffle fries — every single bite was absolutely delicious. Fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care.
Can’t believe this spot has been here for a while and we’re just now discovering it, but safe to say we’ll be back very soon. Highly recommend if you haven’t tried it

I had a great experience here! They fry with 100% beef tallow and not seed oils, which is amazing! You can tell the quality carriers over into the food! I went for cocktails and Sandy was able to make custom drinks that tasted amazing! Sandy made great drinks and provided great service! Gina was also very kind and provided additional details about their food offerings and different menus! These ladies were great and made the experience even more enjoyable! Another patron recommended the truffle fries and boy, they did not disappoint! If you are in the area looking for a cocktail, quick snack, or a full meal, I would definitely recommend!

Chase was AMAZING! He really took care of us. I went for my birthday and had the best time. The food was scrumptious! The Brussels Sprouts are a must-have. My dinner, the Pork Schnitzel, was also great. I tasted other plates at the table and must say that the Shrimp and Grits are spectacular! The 2 desserts we tried (Basque Cheesecake and Chocolate Peanut Butter Tart) were top-tier! I definitely recommend!

Wednesday night my husband and I ate for the first at the Sanctuary on the Square in Gainesville. We had a wonderful experience as we were greeted when we arrived and seated promptly. The hostess and our server were delightful and they were able to answer questions about the menu. My husband had the Smoky Pork Pappardelle and I had the Maple Cider Glazed Salmon and our food came out hot and delicious. Everything about our experience was positive and we look forward to visiting again sometime this week. I highly recommend this gem of a restaurant on the square in Gainesville, GA.

We made a reservation for a party of 5 for 7pm. We arrived slightly early but were seated immediately. Most of the party went with Small Plates so we could all share. My favorite was the Brussels Sprouts. Our least favorite was the Garlic Steak Bites. The garlic parmesan aioli had a penchant garlic salt taste which made it very not enjoyable. Whoever made it, definitely didn’t taste it. The service was stellar and overall, everyone enjoyed the experience.

My wife and I ate there last night. I ordered the patty melt on rye bread and it was fantastic! Great flavor and a large enough portion for a healthy appetite, the toasted rye bread is a nice touch.100% recommend! My wife had the chimichurri, chorizo, shrimp with focaccia bread. Absolutely amazing flavor explosion in your mouth! Tony took care of us and he was very attentive. As one of the owners, you could tell he took pride in what he served. 100% recommend! Making a reservation is recommended, but not required.
