This place was amazing, we were able to put our names on the waitlist online so we were sat as soon as we arrived. Our server Chrystal was AMAZING! Very attentive and friendly, and super knowledgeable when it came to the menu. Our food was hot and our cups were never empty! The food is amazing, the service is always good we had Crystal today she was great they all are. I finally tried something new today. I’m so in love with their Killer Kern Omelet I love had it 5 times in a roll! My fiance gets something different every time and I always try his every thing is so good! We have been there 4 times in the last month and a half also they give you a free meal for your birthday when you sign up online. My honey and I both got ours it was awesome!! I definitely recommend them they are my favorite breakfast spot!

I went to the Original Old River Grill at Brimhall Square to celebrate a birthday of a family member recently. Wow was I impressed! Wonderful and attentive service by cheerful server, Silvia.
Impressive menu with lots of wonderful choices for breakfast and lunch.
I opted for a French Dip with crinkle cut fries.
Loaded roast beef on a hot and soft Pyrenees roll with a generous serving of golden brown crinkle cut fries. Yummy!
Probably one of the best French Dips I’ve ever had.
I also liked the vintage decor. Very polished upscale diner restaraunt
Thank you to the incredible chef that prepared my French Dip and to Silvia as well for exceptional service with a smile.

My friend and I go to Bakersfield to see our doctors. So we make a day of it by going to lunch. The original Old River grill (where we live), and a beautifully diverse menu, including some Cajun like dishes, gourmet Mexican food, and Americana favorites. We just love it there. We sure never leave there hungry! I highly recommend.

Food unfortunately was very burned, oily, greasy, and bacon that was all fat almost no meat. Didn’t finish eating the food.
Price was decent but most of the food was inedible unless you like fatty food and burned bread.
I had the chilaquiles and egg hash brown with beans and toast. Chilaquiles were good. Hash browns were covered in oil no crunchy at all to it. Man and the toast was burned to a crisp. In the photo the top was the least burned side. The other side was just like the one underneath it.
I don’t think I would return. Great service with an alright atmosphere but food needs to improve

Wonderful nostalgic place ♥️ Music ! Food Quality is on point. Hashbrowns are back to the 1960’sDiner style “yummy “ trip back. I noticed in Bakersfield; good dining places are rewarded with business, this place gets the business …. You may wait for a place if you hit peek market times.
