Excellent customer service here. Came here on New Year’s Eve and we both had the Steak, baked potato, dessert, and drink with salad bar. Everything was delicious.
Our dessert was cheesecake.

Found out about this place when browsing Google Maps for a local place to eat near my Tyndall residence. Turns out they’ve been around for a couple decades, & over this time have pretty much pinned down what works. Staff is so friendly you’d think you’d known them for years. Even though they are a sports themed location, they have a lot of historical photos on their walls. As for the food, a modest price for satisfying the hungeriest of appetites. They are a full service restaurant that is known throughout the area for far too many things to mention like their Friday & Saturday night salad bar, or Taco Tuesday additional menu.
But now for the bad, over the last 22+ years, traveling around both The United States & Canada (and being an insulin dependent diabetic), I have never been approached by anyone regarding the use of insulin in public until now. The owner is quite discriminatory against insulin dependent diabetics & is quite demanding that they leave her sight and go hide in the bathroom (or somewhere) (as though they were some kind of illegal drug addict). She has approached me twice (though she claims “dozens & dozens of times”) to “not do that in front of her.”. She claims that her customers complain about this (even though her acts of discrimination are a clear violation of federal and civil law under 42 USC Title III [The Americans with Disabilities Act]) and has stated that if she sees it again she will “throw me out and not allowed back in”. Unfortunately a reasonable discussion with her appears to be out of the question as she is very hostile towards that conversation, and I can see her to be completely retaliatory. Which is quite a shame considering previous experiences. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy the Dugout for both lunch & dinner quite a bit, but I can no longer abide being treated as a 2nd class citizen just because I am not willing to go to a bathroom stall & attempt to take my shots over a toilet.

This is an AMAZING place to eat for both adults and families! I have enjoyed Hot Pepper Cheeseballs, Breaded Mushrooms, The Reuben Sandwich w/fries and The Sunrise Burger which has an egg on it. The servings on the plate are nice and large and you certainly won’t leave hungry. The food is juicy, flavorful, and delicious! I would highly recommend stopping in and trying it for yourself! Curt and Mary Schuh and their employees provide great service and the restaurant is a gem in Tripp, SD.

I have travelled most of the globe and rarely recommend anything online, and this is a true hidden gem. Great food, great people, the best of South Dakota and very Americana.

The other reviews may have been true several years ago but the bar has taken a serious downturn. One of the owners is sick and thus the service, product, and friendliness has gone way down.

Try another place unless you like paying 3 dollars for a can of cheap beer, where a deluxe burger means you get tomatoes and lettuce, and the French fries are greasy and limp.
