Recently moved from Cinderford, have been trying all the Chinese around the forest, I must say this is the best I found so far, the dishes are very similar to the old Lotus Restaurant long ago. very traditional Chinese cooking, nothing fancy but all the dishes we try has been well cooked.

The People are nice, however the food (if you can call it that) was genuinely not edible. The squid was chewier than ghandi’s flip flop. The crispy shredded chilli chicken turned out to be sweet n sour chicken strips with added vinegar and added sugar to the point of diabetes and burning nostrils.
The prawn crackers and chow mean both tasted like essence of fary liquid mixed with heated up plastic. The whole meal tasted like hyponitremia with the lack of salt and over sweetened dishes.
Seriously disappointed with what was supposed to be a treat to celebrate. Also the spring rolls consisted purely of bean sprouts which actually made me gag. I hate to leave a bad review with such lovely owners however I did genuinely question whether I would be ill the next day …

Just moved to the area and tried a couple of different takeaways and this one is our favourite. Hot, tasty food, friendly staff and good value for money.

Quick service and friendly front of house.
Prices blacked out on menu board to had to ask each price
Food dreadful
Ordered a special curry. Looked like Brown wallpaper paste with a few lumps of meat and prawn thrown in.
Bland beyond belief.

Woman at reception was lovely, menu clearly shown on the wall and the wait time was punctual. The food however so grim. Sweet and sour pork was just a few strips of leather. The sauce was salty and weak in taste. Rice was undercooked too. Not a meal I recommend

i ordered a special house curry and special house fried rice, it was pretty bland and i have actually cooked far better myself. it was my first takeaway from this place and will be my last for an overpriced takeaway, seems after reading the reviews from the locals they are easily pleased.

Very good food. Chicken balls are nice and crispy and the batter is not full of stodge. The chicken is lovely and not rubbery like some. The food is not greasy at all. Had a few different dishes from them and have always been piping hot. Staff are very accommodating if you don’t want certain things in your dishes they will omit them. Waiting times on a Saturday can be a bit long but it’s worth the wait. Good sized portions and reasonably priced. Best Chinese in lydney.

Always a great meal……travel 10 miles to collect. Such a great variety of flavours….100% recommend……if u travel like me to collect little hint…….take an insulated shopping bag to bring it home in, keeps it lovely and warm

Faultless. Really enjoyed excellent meal. First class service ready as expected. Piping hot. Best Crispy Beef I have ever had. Nice alternatives to a standard menu such as Mongolian Lamb. Can’t wait for the next time.
