The service is just as amazing as the food—Rosemary was friendly, attentive, and truly welcoming from start to finish. It’s clear they care about their guests.
On top of all that, they have an impressive wine and beer selection that pairs beautifully with the menu.
If you’re craving soulful, unforgettable food with great drinks and top-notch service, this is the place. Five stars all the way!
But persist! For you are on a pilgrimage to the promised land of the $28 Sunday Brunch, which includes a free mimosa. That’s right, for the price of a basic brunch entrée elsewhere, you get a full plate and a deliciously boozy beverage to calm your nerves after that “did I take a wrong turn into a soybean field?” panic.
And holy smokes, the food.
The salmon was so good it should have its own Instagram account. The ribs were so tender they practically surrendered off the bone and waved a little white flag of flavor. The curry chicken was a fragrant, spicy hug for your soul. But the corned beef? The corned beef was my favorite. It was so perfectly seasoned and gloriously fatty that I briefly considered writing it into my will.
The service is warm, attentive, and absolutely on point. And the man behind the magic, Chef Vernon himself? He’s as humble as they come. You’d never guess from his quiet, gracious demeanor that he’s in there casually producing these flavor explosions that would make a celebrity chef weep. He’s not out for fame; he’s just out here making incredible food, and that authenticity is why he absolutely deserves every bit of success that comes his way.
Which brings me to my one and only critique: This man needs a location that isn’t a test of navigational skill. The food is this good, the chef is this talented, and he’s hiding it in a spot that makes a speakeasy look like a Times Square billboard. Move this operation to a place with more foot traffic—or at least fewer roaming livestock—and there would be a line around the block. The business is there; it just needs a battlefield where more people can find it.
Verdict: 10/10 for the food. 11/10 for the value. 15/10 for the humble chef. Absolutely worth the adventure. Go find him, and tell your friends. This guy deserves to be famous.
Our table ordered Curried Shrimp, Jerk Chicken, Oxtails, and Lobster. I ordered Coconut Rice and Fresh Spinach.
The curry sauce was perfect with lots of depth. The oxtails were as tender as butter and the jerk chicken could be addictive, the chicken was seasoned to the bone. I didn’t taste the lobster but my friend savored every bite. We ALL cleaned our plates.
The best part was meeting Chef Vernon who came out to check on every guest. He has quite the culinary background and is as enthusiastic as he is passionate. Open every day but Monday. Sunday brunch buffet.
For our appetizer we got their Roasted Portabella Mushrooms. They were served with veggies and a sauce…perfection!
For our main course, we had the Grilled Herb Salmon with rice and peas, grilled veggies and fried plantains and the Grilled Lamb Chops with a red wine reduction sauce, rice and peas, grilled veggies and fried plantains. The flavors blended together perfectly!! We finished the evening with a Cannoli.
After dinner we chatted with our server(sorry, I’m not good at remembering names), and we had lots of good laughs!! We will definitely dine there again
