After eating here a couple of times I can say the selection is hit or miss. It is nice to have a local seafood spot to enjoy on occasion and I now have a better idea of what to get when we go. I have enjoyed the oysters, flounder and stuffed crab. The shrimp is good and the sides for the most part are acceptable. The okra tonight was clumped with some being over fried and some with clumped breading under cooked. The hushpuppies can be great or like tonight burnt. The scallops should be avoided in my opinion. They at best are frozen and and at worst aren’t even scallops (the flavor was off and the texture was more reminiscent of processed chicken nuggets). The staff seem polite and our order has always been freshly prepared with minimal wait.

Had seen FB posts showing succulent large fried shrimp and delicious looking fried fish. I wish that is what we received.
Instead, upon being seated, we were given a complementary basket of half cooked hushpuppies. Seriously, they were raw and doughy inside.
Then our orders came out.
My wife loves seafood, so she had ordered the “pick 3” . Her deviled crab was about half the size of her hand. Basically, 4 bites and she was done . There was a bunch of hard fried strings and nuggets that were supposed to be clam strips. Extra crunchy I guess.
And the shrimp. They looked like popcorn shrimp. Small as heck, chewy from being overcooked and wife said they had a weird metallic, iodine taste (canned?) .
For myself, I tried to play it safe and went with the hamburger steak with rice and gravy. The rice and gravy were tasty. The meat aspect, not so much.
I’m sure its just coincidence that the wife abd I both ended up visiting the bathroom at home 3-4 times that day after this lunch (we live 45 minutes away. Barely made it home for first bathroom run)

Had lunch at this little restaurant for the first time today. Overall, the food was very good. This is a small restaurant. Nothing fancy in terms of the overall place. But, the food is pretty good. To be honest, their options aside from meat all kind of limited. They do have salads, and a few sides to choose from. However, their menu is primarily seafood based with a few other options. The staff is very friendly and willing to work with you on what they do have. The food is Southern comfort food. Don’t expect a lot of extravagant dishes. It’s southern comfort food, but if that’s what you’re in for, it’s good! Prices are fair, service is excellent. Would highly recommend this place. Maybe not for vegetarians or strict vegans. But, you can make it work especially if you’re just vegetarian.

Passing thru town. fantastic lunch and wonderful staff. Very attentive. Had fresh hot hush puppies ready as we placed our order. Enjoyed talking with staff on places we should visit during our stay. We will be sure to stop again.

This is my spot! When they see me coming, they already make me a fresh pot of coffee and allow me to drink as much as I want. All of the staff is super sweet. Everything I’ve tried is delicious. Try the new shrimp taco’s fried/grilled with the homemade sauce and pico… Chef’s kiss!

Locals were getting take out in quantities…that’s how you know it’s good. Catfish nuggets were delicate and yummy.
