First time visiting High Steaks and it was great! We were drawn to the restaurant since the owner chef also owns our favorite Italian restaurant in Al Solito Posto. The food, service and views are great! Our server Jacinto and his assistants were A+++. We had the calamari, lions mane mushroom, ribeye and the jadori chicken and everything was excellent! Both side potatoes were good too. The complimentary bread with mustard butter was great. Don’t shy away from that lions mane as it’s excellent almost tastes like a steak but not a mushroom, I was impressed. We will definitely be back! Relatively new steakhouse gourmet restaurant on the top floor of the Rio hotel on flamingo west of the strip. This is a new restaurant in an old space but one that has incredible views. The service was very attentive and they definitely need more customers. Everyone was nice and I was greeted very professionally. The French onion soup was spectacular in their homemade bread was one of the best in the city. Bartender was excellent and custom-made some drinks for me. Overall a very positive experience tonight definitely see myself coming back.

I took my husband for his birthday even after reading some 1 star reviews because I was going by the reputation of chef/owner James Trees. It was a disappointment. There were no clear directions on how to get there, elevator to the 50th floor was behind closed doors next to the tattoo shop. The food was mediocre compared to his other restaurants. The view was great and they did seat us by the window as requested. We ordered a Cosmo, a pasta dish, French onion soup, seafood Louis. There was “bread service” with mustard and regular butter. Our server Ashley was personable and attentive. However, this was not a great experience. Prices are high, not matching the quality of food. Also, it was supposed to bring the old Vegas vibe of dressing up for dinner, what we saw were a lot of people dressed like they’re going to do yard work, jeans, t shirts and very casual attire (not business casual). The birthday cake pop tasted like box cake mix. Never going back.

Firstly, I must commend Alex for her impeccable service. Her professionalism, attentiveness, and genuinely warm demeanor were remarkable. Alex went above and beyond to ensure all my needs were met promptly and courteously, making me feel incredibly valued throughout my time there. Such dedicated and personable service is rare and greatly enhances the overall dining experience.

Secondly, the culinary offerings were absolutely superb. I can unequivocally state that the meal I had was among the finest I have ever experienced. The quality of the ingredients, the expert preparation, and the exquisite flavors of each dish were simply outstanding. Every aspect of the food, from presentation to taste, was a testament to the talent of your kitchen staff.

This combination of exemplary service from Alex and truly world-class cuisine has left a lasting positive impression. I look forward to returning soon and will definitely recommend your establishment to family, friends and colleagues.

We came in two nights in a row while staying at the Rio. The food & drinks were incredible, views unmatched, and prices were fair for the quality and amount of food provided (unlike the overpriced spot downstairs called Luckley). Rocco & Kenny were awesome at the bar – very helpful and overall great people.
Highly recommend the negroni, brussels sprouts, esthers caesar, the bone marrow, bison filet, and denver steak. Really everything I bit into or sipped on was just top notch at this place. Highly highly highly recommend it!

High Steaks Steakhouse at the Rio absolutely exceeded our expectations. From start to finish, everything was exceptional. We started with the crab cakes and pastrami glazed pork belly—each appetizer was perfectly prepared, full of flavor, and beautifully presented.

The chopped wedge salad was crisp, fresh, and generously portioned. For the main course, the ribeye was huge and cooked to perfection, and the Denver cut with the blue cheese crust was rich, tender, and unforgettable.

Even though we had no room for dessert, the staff surprised us with cake pops to celebrate a birthday, which was such a thoughtful touch—and they were delicious.

Outstanding food, generous portions, and attentive service made this a memorable dining experience. We’ll absolutely be back and highly recommend High Steaks to anyone looking for a top-tier steakhouse experience in Vegas.

Really had a fantastic date night here. Larae, our server, made it such an incredible night. We loved the modern touches on a classic steakhouse and the food did not disappoint. The price was right too! The outside terrace with a view of the strip was wonderful! Can’t wait to bring others.

My friend’s usually stay at Rio Casino and we usually leave instead of eating here, however my buddy take his wife on a late night drink date and told us to go check it out. I owe him.

Not only was the drinks delicious, professionally crafted and balanced, not only was the atmosphere great with retro classic tables, waiters, and music, but the view was amazing. The food out of control. My friend is a picky eater, so I was surprised to hear he recommended the wild game tartare. The best version I’ve had now. Salty and refreshing and light. It’s topped with lemon zest and olive tapenade miced in. The prime rib sliders were also delicious and not heavy despite heavy ingredients. This prompted us to return the next day for dinner. The item that caught my interest on the way to the outdoor open air patio 50 stories above the casino strip was the equally tall prime rib my wife and I split. Best prime rib of my life. I will be back. Often.

The only negative of my experience was it forced me to go to the Rio, but because of High Steaks… I would go back.

1. Decor – I had never been in the prior place, but this is somewhere the view is all you need. The booths, tables, lighting, etc. all do exactly what they should – get out of the way of the view. With that said, they used a local artist to paint a stunning mural around the center wall of the room. Really well done. Less is more sometimes.

2. Service – they have union labor, but you actually wouldn’t know. Everyone we encountered seemed to really be invested in making it a special dining experience from beginning to end… which is often not the case w/ union spots (sad fact). So props to leadership of this restaurant for creating that culture!

3. Food – James Trees has really made a unique steakhouse here. It’s not chef-tweezer type food, but thoughtful classics done his way. The steak tartare is with a blend of wild game… delicious and not to be found anywhere else. Crabcakes… another unique take, but I appreciated the differenced because of how great they tasted. Top to bottom of the menu, I enjoyed everything we had. Pastrami bacon, yum. Two different pastas, the bread and butter, salad, lobster bisque, NY Strip, Elk Chop, Mac & Cheese, Scalloped Potatoes, Creamed Spinach, and desserts… all were worthy of a re-order, and boxing each and every crumb to take home for later.

4. Just go – I think the pricepoint for this place is what sets it apart from other steakhouses. Young couples needing a special first date without breaking the bank, or friends in town wanting a steakhouse dinner without wasting their gambling money at the table… this is great choice. Locals… free valet & parking!

Also, the view makes for a great IG post, which everyone apparently needs these days.

Read about this being a new place to be Vegas steakhouse, so I thought I would give it a try. I felt the menu definitely aligned with my likes. The food did not disappoint, but little was exceptional.
As for atmosphere, the view is of course cool; but it is noisy and has too many people hustling about and commotion. The better restaurants somehow pull off doing behind the scenes type stuff to where you somehow don’t notice. Not here.
Again, the food was great; the dish I was most impressed with was the scalloped potatoes.
