⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Our Favorite Dog Bar—A Total Gem!

This dog bar is hands-down our favorite place to unwind. The atmosphere is the perfect mix of fun and relaxing, whether you’re hanging out with friends or letting your pup burn off some energy. The rufferees are always on watch, keeping things safe and smooth, and the entire space is impressively clean, something I really appreciate.

The clientele is great, the vibes are always good, and there’s usually a food truck parked out front with something delicious every weekend. They regularly host fun events, but nothing beats Wine Wednesdays, which have become my weekly treat.

Dog & Pawrent Approved!

We absolutely LOVE Broken Leash Dog Park Bar. From the moment you walk in, it’s clear that safety is their top priority—the check-in process is smooth, the staff is attentive, and the pups are always supervised by the amazing rufferees (the real MVPs—they ROCK!). It gives you total peace of mind knowing your dog is having the best time and being well cared for.

The vibe? Completely unmatched.
Fun, cool, welcoming, and effortlessly chill. It’s the kind of place where everyone feels like a regular on their first visit. Whether you’re coming solo, with friends, or meeting other dog lovers, the energy is always positive and inclusive.

The turf is a total game changer.
My dog gets to run, wrestle, zoom, and burn off all that energy—while somehow still staying clean. No muddy paws, no mess, just pure joy. That alone is worth 5 stars.

The beverage selection is incredible, with tons of NA options too.
Thoughtful, well-curated, and perfect for everyone—whether you’re sipping something fun or keeping it alcohol-free. It really feels like they’ve thought of everyone here.

And honestly? It’s more than just a dog bar—it’s a community.
You can tell they genuinely care about the dogs, the pawrents, and the experience they’re creating. Every visit feels special.

This has officially become our favorite place—our happy place.
Broken Leash, you’ve earned two paws up and all the tail wags from Willow Williams. Highly, highly recommend!

We LOVE the broken leash! The owners are very kind and attentive, employees are all trained in canine behavior, and all dogs are required to have vaccines. We felt like our dog was very safe while we were here! I love how much they care! There are lots of events and cute details. There’s wifi, so it’s a nice place to take my dog to run around while I do some work on my computer. Love the community they have going on here!

Mika and I’s first visit to the Broken Leash Dog Park & Bar was an absolute blast! Staff & Owner were very nice and attentive! It was very nice to meet and chat with fellow pet owners as well.

A little incident between two other dogs did break out but the pet owners helped to break it up quickly and the owner/staff handled it very well. They listened to the pet owners who witnessed the little fight break out + checked on the condition of both dogs involved + reviewed footage and verified what happened ensuring they issued a warning to the appropriate party and inquired on what additional service they could provide to the owners whose pet was mildly injured. Incidents are unavoidable when pets/dogs are involved, it’s how the staff/owners respond that truly make or break a place. Great service and protocol if you ask me!

We’ll definitely be coming back here to continue socializing our pup and making friends. Highly recommend everyone to give this place a try. Just remember that although they do have trained staff to help monitor the pets and watch for possibly troublesome/aggressive behavior, it’s still the responsibility of the owner to keep a close eye on their pup during their stay to prevent them from getting into things they shouldn’t (I.e. picking up their fecal, ensuring they don’t try to eat other dog’s poop, don’t hop up trying to drink people’s drink, etc.).

They also have long hoses you can (and should) use when your pet poops which may leave residue even after picking up.

To emphasize – great place and would 100% recommend anyone to give it a try and see if it’s a good fit for you and your dog!

If dogs could leave reviews, mine would give Broken Leash Dog Park & Bar 12/10 and demand we move in permanently.

This place is the ultimate win-win: the pups run wild (in the best, supervised way), and the humans get to kick back with a drink instead of pretending we enjoy standing awkwardly at a regular dog park. The space is clean, well-kept, and set up so dogs can safely zoom, wrestle, and make questionable life choices — all while I relax.

Huge shoutout to Shannon for always making it such a welcoming experience. She somehow manages to remember all the dogs’ names and most of the humans’ drink orders, which honestly feels like a superpower. You can tell she truly cares about creating a fun, friendly vibe for everyone who walks through the gate (on two legs or four).

If you haven’t been yet, you should fix that. Your dog will thank you.

The Best Community for Pups (and Their Humans!)

We moved to Charleston about six months ago, and finding the Broken Leash Dog Bar has been the best thing for us and our dog. It’s more than just a dog bar—it’s a community where you can meet other people who love their pups just as much as we do.

The place is clean. The outdoor turfs are always well-maintained. The staff are friendly and engaging, not just with us but with our dog, too! We especially love that there are “Rufferees” in the yard who keep an eye on all the dogs and make sure everyone is playing nicely.

There is always something fun happening here. We’ve loved the weekly events like breed meetups, trivia, and live music. They even have food trucks, puppy yoga, and mobile grooming! It’s great to see that they are adding more events every month.

On those hot Charleston days, they have kiddie pools and splash pads to help the pups cool off, and there is plenty of shade and seating in the yard and under the covered patio. You can access the bar in the yard and inside. There’s a great selection of craft beer on tap, frozen wine, seltzers, and cider.

The owners are truly wonderful who are often in the yard, talking to everyone and making sure both the two-legged and four-legged guests are having a great time. This place feels like home, and we couldn’t recommend it more highly!

This place is so much fun and makes for such a good place to spend a Saturday afternoon (or any day/night)! We went the first time and have purchased a day pass bundle because we enjoy it so much. Our Goldendoodle Hudson has such a good time and is making friends along the way! Cold beers, good boys (and girls) as far as the eye can see and great service and people every time we have been! Always a phenomenal food truck in the lot for some good bites. We can’t recommend this place enough! Great for dogs of all age and sizes! Come hang out, grab a beer, let the dogs run around, and meet some great people!

I look at the negative comments about this place and shake my head. Things can happen but people have no idea how awesome this place truly is. Trust me…I’m literally there daily.

It’s a fantastic place to relax rain or shine. I’ve been with my pup many times during rainy days when she has been cooped up all day and needs to get energy out and The Broken Leash has been there.

Staff is awesome, owners are incredible…truly never seen anything like it. They love my dog every time we arrive and when we leave and provide the best service and care everyday. The on staff rufferees do a great job of managing conflict and caring for all dogs…greeting every dog by name when they arrive. Who else does that?

Periodic food trucks with good food selections but you can bring your own food as well and eat before you head to the yard.

Go here, and continue to go. Your dog will love it…mine is crying everyday at 5pm waiting to go. If she loves it, I definitely love it and great safe place for your dog to run around. They will take care of you at the bar and your dog in the yard.

I value the community atmosphere as well. We took our pup day one of opening and have met fantastic dog parents who are there routinely and give us a greeting and of course my dog now has many dog friends nearby.

Thanks for all you do, keep it up! Nola loves everyone there and cries when she can’t go. Thanks for loving her as your own and providing so much care for her…and me of course!

See you soon!!!

When you’re looking for a place that’s part dog park, part social club, and 100% good vibes….look no further than The Broken Leash!

The place is impressively clean and well-kept (seriously, you’d never guess this many dogs hang out here). The staff clearly know what they’re doing because they are friendly, attentive, and they genuinely love the pups. Every dog is vetted before entry, so you can relax knowing it’s a safe, happy mix of furry personalities.

It’s the perfect after-work hangout, whether you’ve got your four-legged co-worker with you or you’re just there for the hang. There’s always something going on. They do trivia nights, live music… they have great drinks, and good company plus the 21+ crowd keeps the vibe laid-back and fun without the chaos of a playground.

Grab a drink, meet some great people (and even better dogs). The Broken Leash isn’t just a dog park, it’s the best kind of community spot where everyone, human or canine, leaves a little happier. kwt

Just celebrated my little man’s 6th birthday at The Broken Leash, Inc
If you haven’t been there, go check them out! You do have to register your dog online and show records. But I LOVE that because I know my dogs are safe when I go there. The prices are fair. The service is amazing. They have lots of drink options (non-alcoholic, beer, wine, hemp drinks and mocktails!) They have breed meet up nights and trivia!
They have super cute accessories for sale too. And we brought home some digestive friendly treats from a local vendor they offer too!
I brought my laptop and worked while my kids had all of the fun!!!!
If you’re a dog lover like I am, you’re missing out if you haven’t been here yet!!!
Thanks for such a great place to hang out at!
