The street tacos are to die for! When you walk it, it smells like a true Texas BBQ is right here in SD. And it tastes wonderful! If you’re unsure what to order, get the 3 meat platter and try several. The chopped brisket, ribs (fork tender), and jalapeño sausage make great additions to it.

THE best bbq place in SD, hands down! This was real, authentic Texas bbq. The food was fresh, delicious and yummy at every bite! A 6 Stars out of 5 Stars and I’m picky. The Brisket was excellent . The Texas Twinkies were excellent . The Potato salad in perfect cubes were excellent . The service was excellent. The location was easy to park and easy to leave. I have self proclaimed this the best BBQ in the Black Hills. The sweet tea was the final touch. Great price for grown man servings. You’ll leave full and satisfied.

Absolutely mellow and rich flavors from mesquite for the brisket and pulled pork. Subtle flavors for the family recipe potato salad and Cole slaw.

My visit to John Boy’s Texas BBQ at the Eagles Landing Lodge was nothing short of spectacular. The drive out of town was totally worth it once we indulged in their brisket sandwich, brisket nachos, and pulled pork nachos. Very clean place , friendly service. Good portion sizes. I got the brisket plate , the brisket was a little bland . The potato salad was really good . The coleslaw was also bland. Get your money’s worth!

The absolute best BBQ we’ve had. The ribs fell off the bone, the brisket was juicy, and the pulled pork was extremely flavorful. The staff was friendly and even tho we arrived at closing time they still let us order with a big smile. Easily a must do for if you are in the area and looking for some great food. Highly recommended.

I’ve never written a review before but knew I wanted to for this place! You drive through a garden/landscaping center up to a building called “The Shed” and walk in to a room filled with plants and miscellaneous gardening trinkets. When you eat – your table is by a set of sunny windows with little plants on the windowsills. The food was excellent – my fiancé said it was the best brisket he had ever had and I had the pulled pork sandwich which was excellent. I had never wanted to eat coleslaw before coming here but tried the side and finished the whole thing. The owner and his wife were wonderful. Service was quick, friendly, and personable. This place needs more attention!! We were visiting from a state 14 hours away and I’m tempted to make the drive again one day to see how this place has grown in a few years.
