Was very excited to check out the 1933. I was even more curious based off the rating under 4 stars. I can say that we had an absolute great experience. They met every expectation for service, atmosphere, food and presentation. Staff was great and what is typically expected from a Hershey branded restaurant. Highly recommend to many visiting. My one thing I found awkward was as checking in they wanted outlet name and phone number. After I asked they explained and I found it nice in case we left something. Overall great experience!!

Absolutely phenomenal dinner. Hunter was a great host and checked on us often. Steak and burger were cooked perfectly. The corn side and truffle fries were great. Dessert was also great. They also brought us a special dessert for our Anniversary, which was a wonderful touch. Also got to play shuffleboard before eating, which was fun. Well done 1933!

We had an incredible dinner at 1933, the upscale restaurant and cocktail lounge inside The Hotel Hershey. The space pays tribute to the year the hotel was founded during the Great Depression, and you can feel the history in the ambience — refined, elegant, and full of timeless character. The artwork and historic photos from back in the day added a meaningful and nostalgic touch that beautifully tied into the 1933 theme.

Our reservation was for four — my wife and I, along with a business colleague and his wife. We’re all both clients and service providers for one another, so this dinner was a great mix of business and pleasure in the perfect setting.

We started with shrimp cocktail as our appetizer — perfectly chilled, large, fresh shrimp that were packed with flavor. Our server Kellie was exceptional: friendly, attentive, professional, and knowledgeable. She offered thoughtful recommendations and truly made us feel well cared for throughout the evening.

I took her suggestion and ordered the ribeye cooked medium rare — it was cooked to absolute perfection and paired beautifully with a side of mushrooms that were rich, savory, and the perfect complement to the steak. My wife had the salmon and really enjoyed her meal as well. Our friends added a side of asparagus and were equally pleased with their experience.

The cocktails were expertly crafted and balanced, adding to the already great atmosphere. Emmett, the manager on duty, personally came by to greet us and check in — a classy, professional touch that showed how much they care about the guest experience.

From the moment we walked in until the last sip of our drinks, everything was top-notch — the food, the service, the vibe, and the attention to detail. 1933 is a gem and we will absolutely be returning. Highly recommended.

Tamie was an excellent waitress that had good history about the restaurant. She made great suggestions for drinks like the chocolate caramel martini, and the food was delicious and very creative. Special shout out to the Strawberries and Cream dessert and the caramelized shallot bread pudding side. We’ll definitely be back soon and glad to see this as the replacement for Harvest!

Steaks and dessert were pretty good! Filet was better than the Ribeye. Steaks only come with one side and the sides weren’t anything special.

Had a great time and two wonderful meals, including a perfectly cooked filet mignon. Amy the bartender took care of us both times. She could not have been nicer! We will definitely be back!

My wife and I were excited to try the newly launched 1933 restaurant in Hotel Hershey based on the menu we saw online. We booked our reservation for Mother’s Day weekend with high hopes of some good food.

First off, the restaurant itself is located towards the back outside of the hotel Hershey. Takes some strategic walking to find if you are inside the hotel. We asked one of the staff members for directions, and we were on our way.

The service we received when we got there and from our waiters were great, so this review is really nothing against them. It was the food that really missed the mark I feel.

For appetizers, I got the cold lobster, and my wife got a salad. I was a little disappointed, to say the least, for the amount of lobster I received for $32. I literally got half of a claw and a small piece of tail. The lobster was also pretty frozen, and I had to crunch through it in order to eat it. It was not a very good first impression as we waited for our entrees.

I ordered the short rib with carrots, and my wife ordered the filet with cauliflower. She ordered her steak medium well, but the filet was like a piece of rubber overly cooked more than well done. Her veggies were also cold.

My short rib was very, very fatty, and I could not eat most of it. They give very small portions but a high price tag for mediocre food, unfortunately.

Most likely, I will not be back unless they change the chef or something drastically changes. The atmosphere was really nice and it is such a shame because it could be a really nice restaurant if they step up their food game a little better.

Slow service for overpriced bar food. My wife’s burger was burnt and had to be sent back. In 1933s defense they did make it right but it ruined the date lunch vibe. Also the water served smelled and tasted like bleach. $13 for one draft beer. Weak pour on my wifes $14 glass of wine. Atmosphere was better when it was harvest. Won’t go back.

Food was delicious! I had the 10 Oz sirloin Oscar with a baked potato. Steak was cooked perfectly and delicious! The baked potato was good, just a normal potato. My husband had the adobo lacquered sword fish which was amazing! The charred pineapple salsa and bean puree was flavorful and delicious!! We also had the she crab soup (pretty good), the shrimp cocktail (very good), the carrot cake tres leches (very good), and the peanut butter pie (average). Since it was my birthday, they brought me two chocolate covered strawberries with a little candle which was so good and so appreciated!

Our server was attentive, kind, informative, and had a wonderful attitude though she was busy!

I had my birthday dinner at the new restaurant, and the food and service was excellent. The appetizers were tasty, everyone who ordered steak said it was cooked the way they ordered it and tender, the seafood was fresh, and my beef short rib was melt in the mouth. A few of us tried their apple tarte tatine for dessert. The flavor was nice, but it was just ok. Probably wouldn’t order it again. Our server was friendly, courteous, and helpful. Shout out to the bartender who made my pomegranate martini. It was really good. I highly recommend 1933 Restaurant and Tavern, and look forward to dining there again.

UPDATE: Recently went back for dinner. Our server (I think her name is Paige) was very fun, friendly, and provided excellent service. Everyone who ordered steak and swordfish enjoyed their meals. Two of us ordered the duroc pork chop and we both agreed that it was so-so. I recognize that they have to be careful with seasoning since they offer different sauces to accompany the steaks and chops, but unfortunately it was still very bland. In addition to the sauces we ordered we still had to add salt and pepper to it. Even though it was cooked well I don’t plan on ordering it again. With that being said, I have no changes to my original rating and I still recommend you give 1933 a try.
