The Barrel is a nice place with a nice vibe. But when you pay over $18 for 1 bourbon well drink and 1 vodka well drink (not call) then we’ll have to take our business elsewhere. There’s NO reason for those prices for well liquor. We can get those 2 drinks just about anywhere in the Lafayette area for $10 to $13. We won’t even back.

Little surprised that the Barrel was a whiskey barrel and not a wine barrel, however the place is great. If you have an appreciation for barrel distilled spirits then this is your heavenly place. Dominique, prefers Dom, was a fantastic host and has a wide knowledge of the hundreds of different spirits available. Go around the barrel in 80 days and visit this place. Even if you are not adventurous and stuck to your usual, this place is a great find. Tell them the photographers from East Texas sent you.

What a great place to meet people! I went there just a couple of times, when I first moved to Broussard, and I met a true family of people that care about each other and want to see you every day. It doesn’t matter if it’s the people behind the bar or the people sitting at it; you’ve been welcomed home!

Been here a few times and always liked it. Nice atmosphere and close to home. It seems that there has been a sudden dramatic increase in prices. Ordered an old fashioned with Maker’s, which I’ve had on prior visits, and the charge when I settled the tab was $23 for that one drink! I don’t recall paying even half that for the same drink at any other establishment. I enjoy supporting local businesses, but unfortunately I probably will no longer be able to afford to support this one.

Best whiskey selection with great craft drinks. The staff is fun and friendly and management always finds a way to keep guest entertained through live bands and weekly contest. Call ahead, check their Facebook and come early.

I’d give negative stars if I could. Waited and waited and told us she was coming. She waited on others and then existing customers that had drinks. She looked like she hated being here. We left and will not be back. Do not spend your hard earned money here, they don’t want it.
