Hard to find parking, no directions on what to do and no one greets you. Grab your tray and tongs and grab what you want, bring the tongs with you. Your better off ordering in line as the ordering machine don’t let you add your pastries.
Not very welcoming and no one speaks or ask if you need help. When I went on a Friday afternoon there were plenty of the 3d fruits. I tried the lemon which is tart. The apple isn’t the best however the mango is my favorite. Not overpowering on the sweet side and the curry chicken donut buns are one of my favorite pastries. Also any bun and the cream fill bread as well as the strawberry one are delicious.
Their twisted donut is hard. I would come back for only those since the buns are super soft.

I loved it here except for when I placed my actual order (in store). I ordered two pastry’s (and some other things) and they told me later on while I was waiting, that they didn’t have them in stock anymore. When I asked the lady about getting a refund for those two specific items, she said she would either give me completely different pastry’s (the heart and the apple) or I could get a PARTIAL refund as they didn’t have what I ordered exactly even though I paid them right in store and it said “in stock” on the menu (which it didn’t say for all items). The food was pretty good and looked very nicely prepared. The staff also takes a decent amount of attention to detail. I did enjoy the experience (I had a mini birthday dinner) although it was a little bit disappointing and quite pricey. The atmosphere is very basic (sort of like the typical froyo place) if you’re planning to get food or drinks here, I would recommend calling them or asking in advanced about what they have in stock as well as being prepared to spend a little bit of extra money. (Also, If they are missing an item you want, be prepared to make a decision on getting something else, or half of a refund.)

I can’t say enough wonderful things about this place. It’s beautiful, the atmosphere and aesthetic is lovely. The manager Rainy is a delight and they were so accommodating for my book signing of Trapped in the Past for a collaborative community event. Everyone raved about how much they loved the food and drinks. They have so many options I can’t pick a favorite but I loved the cheesecake, a mouse. The tea was outstanding.
I truly recommend and I think I’ve found my favorite tea shop in RVA.
Check them out if you’re in the willow lawn area and even if you’re not, they’re worth the drive.

I visited with some friends an had a lovely time. The atmosphere is great with the café having a very clean and modern aesthetic. The music wasn’t too loud and even at it’s most crowded it didn’t feel cramped. I got a coconut cream bun and a roasted oolong milk tea with brown sugar boba. The bun had a light buttery texture which complimented the airy cream well. Neither the bun nor the cream were too sweet, having a nice mild flavor. I found the oolong to also not be too sweet which let the roast leaves and rich milk come through well. Overall I would definitely recommend Ben Wong’s Tea to anyone hoping for a good pastry and a drink at a good price.

Some pretty yummy drinks! Sometimes they are too sweet, so consider asking for less sugar. Curry bun is delicious, but pass on the katsu sandwich—it’s bland.
Tiramisu lattes are usually pretty good, but the last time I got it, they came without the foam or topping 🙁

One of the best desserts I’ve had. I got a beef hotdog bun for a snack. It was awesome. We shared a matcha shaved ice that was rave worthy. Great flavor and texture. They have savory buns and lots of beautiful sweets. Definitely recommend this establishment.

Ben Wong’s Tea, Bakery and Cafe is a fantastic spot. Their bakery items are fresh and flavorful—very similar in quality and concept to Bracetea,. The drinks are just as impressive—well-balanced, refreshing, and beautifully made. Definitely a place worth visiting if you’re into great pastries and top-notch tea drinks. Highly recommended!

Got the mango cheese slush 50% sugar and it was pretty sweet! I reccomend that sweetness level. The cheese cap complemented it well when mixed in! 10/10 although the milk shaved ice was small, the shaved ice was very fluffy! A little lighter ice than I would expect and a bit smaller than places around here/NOVA places but the boba in it was very soft and complemented the tastes well! The place was very clean although my only comment would be on the display of the way the shaved ice was sent out, it was just a bit messy. Still enjoyable ofc snd great service!
