Beautiful views and service was fine. The food was a bit average but you can’t beat the amazing location by the slopes.
The quesadilla was ok for my tastes though my husband was happy. Did enjoy the truffle fries though they were heavy on the salt, and I’m someone who loves salt.

This is a hard review to write and I’ve debated it several times but as we head into the holidays, if you’re looking for a place to hang out while the kids/family ski and snowboarding, this is for you. We are a family of 6 traveling with a family of 5 to ski/snowboard for Christmas. We spent 3 days at Winter Park which is just the perfect place for families of all different skill levels in skiing and snowboarding. I’m talking Mary Jane down to bunny slopes. Winter Park has it all and I will leave a seperate review for that. We arrived at Derailer after checking our kids into ski school. I was met by Helen who is sweet but clearly new and didn’t know how to answer questions so, I headed to the bar to ask and was met by Marvin and Jordan who were freaking awesome! I advised them that I would be posted up here all day, all weekend, in fact! We initially started outside but asked to move inside after the wind caught up to us. They were so accommodating to us and we ordered several bottles of bubbles and rounds of apps. Our husbands came and went as well as our kids and at the end of the night, I asked if the guys would be there the next day and they promised they would and we said we’d arrive back when they opened after we checked everyone into the mountain. We left a generous tip for both the bartender and waiter. Day 1 was a blast! Marvin and Jordan were the best! Day 2, we arrived at opening, asked Helen for a table (who still had no clue, but sweet) and the guys saw me, asked me if I wanted my bottle, said yes, got a table, got settled and then I went to the bar where I was accosted by a waiter Jay, whom, I had no idea was serving us and was very upset I had ordered from the bar so, I asked the guys what to do. Jay put everyone in a precarious situation and in order to keep the peace, the guys brought our buckets to the table. Jay’s service was clearly disgruntled and lacking even after we apologized. Despite my better judgement, we still left a 20% tip. He got upset when my kids showed up for snacks and drinks and took up a table and asked them to leave because of this. My husband was pissed I left a 20% tip for crap service but, I felt it was owed because we took up a table for several hours, ordered several buckets and started a seperate bar tab because the service was so bad. Enter day 3. We came later, asked for a table outside, trying to avoid Jay and dammit if we didn’t get him again. He was so rude and awful. We ordered a bottle of bubbles which he brought. Asked for a cup of juice. Never returned. We attempted to order food, apps, nothing. We ordered chips and queso but, he never came back to order anything else. We noticed server Katie whom had the table next to us on day 2 so, I asked to speak to her, told her about our awful service, and requested she take over the table. She never came back. Wouldn’t make eye contact with us. Never communicated. Nothing. Jay didn’t return. I got up and started ordering from the bar. I realize we took up a table. I also realize I have spent over about $400 in 3 days and left over $100 in tips but day 3, I left nothing for Jay. I was sure to leave sweet Kirstin a nice tip, at the bar, since I had to go up there to order.
Jay is doing you a disservice. I really try hard not to leave bead reviews but out of 3 days, 2 with Jay, I’m sorry. He’s doing Derailer a disservice. I was very clear that we, (the moms) would be posted up. I had zero issues with this at Park City. As a nonskier, this applies to you if you plan to post up while your family skis. Either way, Merry Christmas. We will be back at spring break. I will avoid Jay.

Scenic spot with limited options, but worth the stop
Bars on the mountain are few and far between, so this spot stands out more for its location than its variety. The menu is pretty limited—mainly beer, wings, and a few sides—but what they do have is done well enough. The wings were definitely on the small side, but they were flavorful and cooked just right. I’m usually not into waffle fries, but these were crispy, well-seasoned, and surprisingly enjoyable.
The real draw here is the view. If you’re lucky enough to grab a table that faces the mountains on a clear day, it totally elevates the experience. Sitting back with a cold beer and a view like that makes the limited food options feel like a minor detail. It’s the kind of place where the vibe carries the value.
That said, don’t expect it to be cheap. With just two people, a couple rounds of beer, and some food, you’re easily looking at a $100 tab. But for the combination of good company, fresh mountain air, and that killer backdrop—it’s worth the occasional splurge.

The service was abysmal – our waiter looked like he’d rather be anywhere else, and getting his attention was like trying to summon a ghost. The atmosphere? The floors were like you were ice skating, it smelt like dust and old shoes.
Then there’s the food. It’s an insult to the very concept of cuisine. Bland, poorly prepared, and overpriced. To add insult to injury, we found out they serve the exact same food upstairs for half the price! All they do is go upstairs get the food you ordered and bring it down and charge double the price. It’s like they’re daring you to pay more for the same disappointment. Then if you tried to go upstairs and get your food for CHEAPER try to bring it downstairs the waiter demanded us to leave because we didn’t order from him.
Do yourself a favor and avoid this place like the plague. Seriously, a microwave dinner would be a step up. This restaurant is an absolute rip-off and a complete waste of time and money.

Perfect spot to warm up or cool down after hitting the slopes in the morning! Craft beer selection is unique to the Colorado area and the chili is amazing! The honey cornbread is the star of that meal! The bartenders are quick and attentive! Can’t ask for a better place to recharge and head back out on the mountain!

$20-$30 sandwiches using the cheapest preformed chicken patty available from Sysco. Apathetic servers, sticky tables, etc. I have low expectations for resort food, but this place is awful. No coat hooks for ski gear while you eat. Good for beer on the patio, but nothing else.
