Café La Parroquia in Laredo is an absolute gem. The moment you walk in, you’re welcomed with authentic flavors that instantly transport you straight to Veracruz. Their bomba jarocha — a warm concha filled with beans and cheese — is out of this world. It’s unique, comforting, and absolutely delicious.
The antojitos, especially the sopes, are prepared with that true Mexican touch; every bite tastes homemade and full of tradition. Their seafood dishes also stand out, fresh and perfectly seasoned.
But the star of the show? The café lechero. They prepare it exactly the way it’s done in Puerto de Veracruz — same pour, same ritual, same incredible flavor. One sip and you’re transported right back to the malecón. It’s nostalgic, authentic, and worth the visit on its own.
Beautiful place, excellent service, and unforgettable flavors. Highly recommended.

I got the chile relleno breakfast plate this is how it looked . My eggs and chile relleno was drenched in sauce and wasn’t expecting it to be like this. I didn’t try anything else but I don’t recommend getting this plate if you’re trying this place out. We ended up paying $58 for two breakfast plates.

We were “attended” by Saul. But he just took our food order. Didn’t come to ask if we were ok not even ONCE. And that’s that we were sitting right next to the double doors leading to the kitchen. He could have taken 3 seconds to acknowledge us while passing. Food was good. We wanted to get dessert but the service was a huge let down. Didn’t want dessert anymore. We had to go for the check in the front. We’re also good tippers, Saul missed out! Too busy taking pics of some ladies in another table.

My first time in Laredo, so here too. Came in with some co-workers due to the online reviews. This joint didn’t disappoint! From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted, like we were family. The staff and owners were extremely friendly and didn’t hesitate to offer us some suggestions.
I started with a delicious cup of Cafe de Olla. Ordered their Montaditos, which are some of the best breakfast items I’ve had in some time. The guys all ordered something different and said the same as l.

Upon entering the restaurant, we were immediately greeted by a welcoming staff member. Their warm smile and hospitable gesture made us feel instantly comfortable. The ambiance of the establishment was equally inviting. We look forward to experiencing the service and cuisine. It promises to be a delightful dining experience.

Hidden gem in Laredo, and now one of my favorite restaurants in Laredo. Food went beyond my expectations, service was excellent and prices are acceptable as it’s located in a nice area. To drink we got Café Lechero (served in the traditional way as in Veracruz), which is basically coffee extract and milk served from a long distance to get oxygen into the milk and make a nice foaming coffee, unfortunately it doesn’t include refills but is worth it. To eat we got several plates, and every single dish was extremely good, I got the Barbacoa Flautas (crispy on the outside, creamy and soft on the inside, also the Barbacoa was Veracruz style so tastes different than the usual Barbacoa from Laredo), my partner got the Mini Sopes Pibil (small corn based sopes with Cochinita Pibil), Tamal Parroquia (the only complaint about this one is that the tamal itself is not filled with the Cochinita, instead it’s just the tamal without any filling, but instead everything is on top, it comes with Cochinita, salsa de frijol, crema, etc… It was good though).

The presentation of the dishes, and the restaurant itself is very cute. Highly recommend all the chilaquiles, the salmon bagel, egg white omelette, and the vanilla blackberry crepe.

Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. Highly recommend the tamal and the canasta con pan. Hands down, some of the best food I’ve had recently! They use the freshest ingredients and make sure each dish is done the right way. The service here is excellent. Our server was attentive without being intrusive.

We’ve been here twice for breakfast and were very satisfied both times. The food is very flavorful, unique, and beautifully prepared. They advertise that most everything is made from scratch. Prices are very fair. Service is fantastic and the inside is esthetically pleasing. This is a rare gem in Laredo and I hope they stay. Highly recommend!!
