What a Gem of a place!
That deep dish pizza pie you see in the advertisement is why I went to scallywags; and it did not disappoint one bit.
The sauce….holy cow, gands down best sauce south of the Mason Dixon, the craftsmanship of the pie, the fresh ingredients, you could taste the love that went into making that pie.
We had the best chicken tenders ever that a battered in a perfect blend of seasoning with a hint of dill pickle. Dip them in their hot honey and call it wonderful. The other menu choices look amazing; and I can’t wait to try them all.
Now to the atmosphere…
Pinball machines, a pool table, music, a couch booths, pirate theme, a bar, just an absolutely cool vibe that is very family friendly, affordable and not like everything else around us. The owners operate the place; and they even do breakfast.
You and your friends or family can easily spend a couple fun hours here and not even realize that much time went by.
Make the voyage, the treasure is amazing.

I have been wanting to try Scallywags Pizza for a long time but we stay so busy it’s hard to get there.. even if it’s just 30 minutes away. After winning dinner on a Facebook giveaway, I made it a point to gather some friends and try it out. It exceeded my expectations! I ordered a NY style 1/2 cheese 1/2 pepperoni for the kids and snagged a slice for myself. It was a large pizza and full of flavor, unlike any other pizza I have had around here. My friends ordered a Chicago deep dish and knowing it takes longer, we ordered some apps as well while we waited. I love fried ravioli and theirs didn’t disappoint! The sauce had a bit of a kick (red pepper I guess?) which really enhanced the flavor of the dish. Our friends had the pizza eggrolls, my husband loved those! Despite having 3 restless children with us, the wait wasn’t a big deal as there’s a game room with some old school arcade games. The deep dish pizza was HUGE, feeding 4 adults! Just the right amount of cheese, perfect amount of sauce, and a buttery crust that was full of flavor! They have a full bar with a variety of beers and some fun delicious sounding cocktails. Our service was wonderful as well. Our server was friendly and personable; often discussing our wild 2 year old daughters. She made some great recommendations and was quick with anything we needed… even if we didn’t know we needed it. I may have come for the free pizza but will definitely be back for more delicious dinner and friendly service.

Scallywags Kraken deep dish delight pizza was definitely the star of the show! The sauce had a rich and bold flavor. We ended up with about half left over and reheated it in the oven on a pizza stone the next day, and it was even better! The tavern style pizza was very delicious too! Two things we certainly won’t try again were the garlic bread sticks and the dessert we tried. I can’t remember the name of the dessert, but you can see them in my pictures. I tried a couple of bites and threw them in the trash. Highly disappointed! The garlic bread sticks were dry and lacked any garlic flavor! The pizza alone is worth coming back for though!

I recently moved to the area. I was researching the best pizza in Foley. Reviews said it was the best pizza around. So I gave it a go. I ordered the Tortugas Treasure which is a Tavern pizza, a Davy Jones, NY Style and 12 wings with 2 different sauces on them split. I decided to pick it up. I dont live that far away. I find my way in. Seems like a cool spot! They have Pinball machines and a pool table. They also have a bar with a decent amount of tables to dine in. The girls at the counter were very nice. My food was ready right when they said it would be. I take my order and go. As im walking out I get a huge whiff of my wings. They smell like Buffalo. I didn’t get Buffalo. I ordered Jamaican Jerk and Mango Habanero. I open the container and yeop, its Buffalo! Haha. Oh well! I was told it was the last order of wings they had when I ordered, so I didn’t bother saying anything. Get home the pizzas look great! The wings looked like they didn’t take their steroids. Pretty small. But they were good. Cooked perfect. Just had the wrong sauce on them. The Tavern and the NY pizza had great flavor to them. But the dough had tough/chewy texture. Its was decent overall. But I spent $78 on this meal, I was hoping it’d be phenomenal.

While staying in Foley for the night before heading to the beach, we discovered this hidden gem after searching for dining options. From the moment we walked in, my small family was warmly greeted and made to feel right at home. We ordered both a thin-crust pizza and a deep-dish (“stuffed”) pizza, and both were absolutely phenomenal. While the deep-dish takes a bit longer to prepare, the staff kindly brought out the thin crust first at our request, which was greatly appreciated. This is a must-visit spot, and we’ll definitely be returning on our next trip!
Whether you’re a local who has yet to try it or a tourist visiting the area, make sure to add this spot to your list!

I really wanted to like it- but the food and atmosphere were the only good things.
No other customers when we walked in. Maybe that was a sign. But a few more drifted in before we left. (Including a few guys who got drinks and played pool. The bad language they used wasn’t family friendly. Staff either didn’t hear or didn’t care. )
While the staff was very polite, they had little knowledge of their menu. We were told it was a new menu, but that should have come with training.
There were things I would have got, but they didn’t know how to make it.
I was told the owner was coming, but after almost an hour, still no owner.
Appetizer was really good, but it wasn’t what I ordered.
Pizza was REALLY good!
They use baskets with paper for plates the paper tears and I was worried about accidentally eating it (last pic)

Door dashed their Chicago pizza. BEST PIZZA IN BALDWIN COUNTY. Hands down. A sweet but yet touch of spice in their sauce and I absolutely love it!! I’m so excited for this business and people to discover them!!

The Gulf Coast has a New Pizza STAR! We specifically ordered the Chicago Deep Dish cause its kinda a rare option down here. Took less time than they published and it was magnificent! The New York style looked great, as well. They can take a lead from Mellow Mushroom on the beers (the 1st two on the menu we ordered weren’t available?)
The only caveat with this spot is they have limited hours, so check before you go – BUT – you should definitely go!
