Friendly Red’s Tavern is a great new addition to the town of Hudson. Seems as though we’ve waited a long time for this, and now it’s finally here. It took me a month to get in as I was very willing to let them work the kinks out before rushing to judgement. Glad I did. They’re in full swing now and my experience was excellent. The room is large with seating that gives you plenty of elbow space. Outdoor seating is also available but I chose to sit at the bar. Three very friendly and helpful bartenders handled a nearly full bar remarkably well. I started with the greatly effective Cadillac Margarita and an appetizer of delicious Stuffed Jalapeños. After that came Red’s Burger Melt, cooked to order, which was as tasty a burger as I’ve had in recent memory. With all the new patrons the atmosphere was abuzz with anticipation. I see no reason for this to change any time soon. Highly recommended.

Stopped in for late lunch. Our server Sam was great. We enjoyed some keeno with a fabulous Italian stromboli. Serves at least two. My wife really enjoyed the chicken risotto. Highly recommend.

Waited behind a brick wall at bar so of course nobody saw me. Bad design. Place is like a big cafeteria. No ambiance. Your neck will be sore from watching the televisions as they are approximately 10ft up in the air around the bar. Again poor design. Lots of money spent but they need a new designer. Big open room with zero atmosphere. Staff is ok. Food is not good. Brown broccoli and stale wrap. Burger roll hard not grilled like cardboard. Didn’t eat.

Fine, basic bar food. The pizza was the favorite. Service was lovely. One large room on first floor. Second floor is an event center. I wish something special stood out for us to return.

For the past 3 years we have made it a family tradition to visit Friendly Red’s when we come back east for vacation because my husband loves their lobster roll, and they never disappoint. This year we went to the new location that just opened in Hudson, and the staff, atmosphere and quality of the food is just as amazing as the original. Can’t wait for next years visit.

Friendly Reds can be best described as a “jack of all trades, master of none.” First, the atmosphere starts with a ton of variety of music playing from at least four generations. However, I could not have a conversation with my wife at the bar as the level is way too high. In fact, there was none of the usual bar chatter from the bar full of people. Only a couple of young ladies cheering for the KENO numbers. The menu is quite large. In my opinion, this keeps the quality down. Example: my wife’s pizza, although fairly large, was incredible limp and soggy. My burger was actually pretty good but the “hand-cut” fries were all incredible small-like half inch to and inch in size. Either they have incredibly small potatoes that they are “hand-cutting” or they are buying inexpensive fries that some factory is “hand-cutting.” The décor is modern with incredibly high ceilings. The service at the bar was friendly and prompt. I think it would behoove the company to lower the volume and concentrate on quality selection and preparations.

Staff were very friendly and attentive. Service was quick. The outdoor seating was spacious and clean with a comfortable atmosphere. The food left a lot to be desired. My husband got a sandwich and fries which were fine, not bad by any means but not anything stellar. I got a half rack of ribs and could hardly eat them. It was so tough I was only able to cut the ends off using a steak knife (which I asked for because a standard knife couldn’t manage to make a dent). The waitress was very kind and asked if there were any issues since I ate only the fries and hardly touched the ribs and I let her know I couldn’t cut through it but I’ll just pack is up and bring it home. She did apologize but that was about it, she said she told her manager but no one ever came to talk to us or even look at the food. I felt bad because the waitress kept apologizing but because I said I’d bring it home the manager wouldn’t comp it (which honestly whatever but I think it would’ve been nice if the manager came out to check or speak to us first instead of making this poor waitress but I’ve never worked in a restaurant before so what do I know). I brought the ribs home because I don’t like wasting food and I already spent the money on it but even with a cutting board and my heavy duty knife I struggled to get any meat off of it because it was riddled with cartilage. I shouldn’t have bothered even bringing it home. Needless to say I left hungry and don’t plan on going back.

10/10. Appetizers, entrees & drinks were all delicious. Steak tips melt in your mouth. Best chicken nachos! Carla was a great waitress. Excellent customer service all around and very clean. Highly recommend.

Went for a party with some friends and was surprised this place had almost zero atmosphere. Whitewashed walls with black accents. Not a painting, plant or otherwise to break up the drab look inside.
Beer selection was sub-par. Best thing on tap was Maine Beer Lunch. Everything else was standard tap drinks that can be found anywhere. Blue Moon, Coors, etc…
Food was very good however. The steak tips were delicious and cooked perfectly! However, I don’t understand how you can offer steak with a baked potato option.
The service was also very good. Our waitress was attentive and very fun to talk with!
Overall, I won’t be back. There are just far too many places around that have better beer selections, better food options and a much nicer atmosphere. Not a bad place by any means, just not a place I’m interested in.

Best thing I ate here was the onion rings… which aren’t even on the menu… they came with the cheese steak egg rolls which, ironically, were terrible! The stuffed jalapeños almost made me laugh out loud when they came out — five anorexic slivers on a massive 20 inch long plate. They tasted okay, but just okay; seriously… what an embarrassment. My meatball sandwich was three overly processed, dense, dry gobs of meat. Whatever. Fresh cut fries were OBVIOUSLY frozen. Let’s not even talk about the price. No chance I’m going back.
