Se molesto Que lo puse a trabajar al señor. Ni una sonrisa ni gracias nada. 0/10 experiencia.
After all, they’re both Taqueria Hidalguense…
But, be ye warned: there is a big difference in the two. Each with their own particular attributes, both positive and negative.
I’ll try not to discount one over the other, preferencially, though I strongly favor one more than the other… Since my own subjective opinion is exactly that; subjective… and may not be what you’re after. They both are reasonable choices for a quick bite in town.
There’s a foodtruck, and then there’s a trailer hauled by a pickuptruck.
The food truck, #20, is the cheaper of the two options. This is both a bane and a bounty… Often, though, not as often as it used to be, the food has had this tinge of curiosity attached to every bite… Like, while you chow down, you’re wondering, Now, wait… what IS that underlying flavor I keep encountering here? Has the meat turned? The beans gone rancid? Or perhaps the tortilla? Or is this a stylistic regional variant catering to a certain style of cooking or perhaps a different type of approach to Mexican food. All taco trucks are different, after all. 100%
The food is about a dollar cheaper on most items here. And perhaps that is what I’m tasting, I’m unsure. I still give them business on occasion when circumstances dictate that I ought to do so.
But…
Then…
…there’s the trailer….
And you just get back, Jack!
Cuz wow.
Just… uh… I mean, just, just wow.
In my opinion this is the best taco truck, consistently, without fail, in the area.
Differing crews here have different flavors. Sundays are their spicer days. Something in the salsa/chile that bumps it up a level that day. Noticably different, but still very good.
They can be swamped with customers, however, and this does seem to happen pretty often. And add to that, that if there’s only one guy working in there, well… good luck… you’ll be waiting for quite a while. But, all in all, that’s about the only downfall I’ve noticed with them. I understand that it happens, I mean they’re pretty popular, and they do have alot of business, and, of course, this can lead to the orders, on occasion, piling up, and because of this their service seem to lag. They get it done though… And it’s worth the wait.
And worth the weight…
Their portions are definitely filling. Even the smaller items, tacos and the quesadilla chica, or the even the tortas, are all given ample amounts of their constituent parts. The burritos have heft. The quesadilla sup will smack yer guts around. Fills ya up is what I’m aiming to make clear, here. Got it?
Good.
They are for real with this ‘rito slangin’ game, son.
Really real, foo.
I mean,
they make it right.
Not just alright.
Right.
And, admittedly
The other truck is getting better … so don’t fully exclude that as an option, they actually are really quick, and the prices are, as I said, less than the trailer in case that is a factor.
If you have a chance, and want some legit sh*t, scope em out. Either one. But the trailer especially. That’s my suggestion.
We’re spoiled in this area with really good taco trucks and taquerias and Mexican restaurants… Why can’t anyone cook Mexican dishes outside of the central valley???
But again, this place, I have noticed after years of avid research, I assure you, is one of the best that our area has to offer, and that’s saying something, what with the already raised bar that seems to be prevalent as a base level, around here, concerning quality Mexican food.
Quality. Most def.
Definitely most def.
