Texas-style BBQ smoked on offset pits and served from a trailer with sauce on the side. All natural brisket, house made sausages, pork spare ribs, turkey breast, and pulled pork. Homemade sides and all the fixins. We frequently sell out of items, so if there is something you really want, show up early! If we are sold out of that item, try something else! We also offer an array of catering services.
We are a food truck, but do have a public restroom and picnic tables on site.
Come see us in beautiful Kearney Missouri!

We are in from out of town and always searching for good-local bbq when we are here. So far, hands down, this is at the top of the list! Not only did we find great brisket! The guys running the joint were just as awesome! The Mac and cheese is definitely the creamiest and best side we have found and give the pinto beans a chance, they were amazing! Large portions! Have to say, it was our lunch AND dinner!
They are in a shipping container just outside Callsign Brewery which is a great pairing. We were able to sit on the patio and enjoy some some local brew with the grub!
Though we like to try new places, this is going to be a regular stop for us every time we are in KC!

Visited Fox&Fire on 4/3/21 with extremely high expectations that were raised by a variety of recent articles they’ve been mentioned in, as well as the great online pictures and ratings. Not only did Owner/Pitmaster Andy Fox deliver on those expectations, he easily exceeded them. He doesn’t do this, but often, you’ll see 4 and 5 star reviews on a joint with people/owners claiming they’re the best, only to be let down by their poorly executed, flavorless and sadly, often inedible food. In my opinion, right now, Fox&Fire is executing their smoked meats at among the highest levels in the KC Metro. Also keep in mind, Andy is doing this out of a tiny trailer with an offset smoker in a parking lot, not some 3 million dollar restaurant with “state-of-the-art” machinery and 35 staff members. If you think you know what great barbecue should taste like but you haven’t been there yet, I recommend you go reset your expectations.

Refreshing to see a different spin on bbq. Many of the others start to taste similar, but I like the flavor and options at this well kept secret food truck; you’re found now! I had the peach pork burnt ends, what a great dish! The picnic tables are ok, but with the heat and the bees flying around, we were forced to eat in our car. We get it, as it takes a large investment to open a larger venue with these amenities and I hope you get there some day. Was going to buy a sticker for my laptop, but it’s a little too big, maybe look into a smaller option too. Everyone should try this place out.

This was our 29th ‘cue stop in Missouri, and the 387th in a 35 state odyssey. $57.49 purchased a 3 meat (ribs, Jalapeno cheddar sausage, turkey), 2 side (coleslaw, mac ‘n cheese) plate, with half a pound of burnt ends and a banana pudding. The turkey is excellent, and the ribs a stellar bite– separating cleanly at the bite, with a rub that does not overwhelm the flavor of the meat. In contrast the sausage, while blessed with good snap, leans too heavily on pepper, which could also be dialed back a bit in the burnt ends. The rotini based mac ‘n cheese is excellent– a creamy, white cheese mix. The slightly sweet coleslaw went well with the turkey, less so with the other meats. At the close the banana pudding, which is light and not overly sweet, offered a nice finish. In sum, this was a good stop overall, but a few items do need some tweaking.

This is your BBQ spot if you are within a 30 minute drive. There is a lot of barbeque spots in KC, I’d drive by most of them to come here.
Texas style Brisket… Salt, pepper and oak smoke. Thick slices and generous portions.
Pork was spot on.
Beans with Cojita cheese is my new high bar.
Mac and cheese…. Smooth and cheesy.
But the real kicker and not sure this is on the menu often… Beef Fat Flour Tortillas. Stupid good.
Nice people to boot. Thank you!

The food was exceptional, even the fixxins were good. Grade A Texas style BBQ. What I would suggest to make the experience better is to create a more lively atmosphere. Maybe some backyard games, live music, etc.

Simply put, this is the best BBQ in KC. I know, I know… bold statement. Just trust me.
And you’re probably thinking, Kearney? Yes, it’s worth the drive on a Saturday AM.
You’re also probably thinking, Texas style? Yes, being born and raised in KC it took me a long time and many trips to central Texas to admit it, but it’s the best in the world — and Fox&Fire is right there with Franklin’s, la BBQ, Terry Black’s, and the rest of them.
Once you experience the “real” brisket that F&F serves up, you’ll never look back.
They also cater! I ordered an obscene amount of food for coworkers visiting from out of town, and to this day they still talk about it.
KC is lucky to have Andy doing his thing! Don’t walk, run.

Excellent meats! Glad we picked this place to show our friends from Wisconsin some real BBQ. Unique take on things (but not too far from traditional) which was refreshing. Like the differentiation from the standard NKC spots. The brewery location is clutch. Service was beyond excellent. First time and we were greeted with a smile, hospitality, and excellent service all around (delivered our food to us and cleared our table for us). We will be back!

This is the best barbecue I have had in KC. The brisket has perfect bark and great smoke. The slaw was unique and had great flavor.

Kind of crazy little place in a stationary food trailer behind Callsign Brewery. Might just be the best brisket in town! Also, try the pinto beans, great flavor without trying to compete with all of the sweet BBQ beans in town. I went twice this week!
