Maui World Travelers
This L&L is located in the food court of Queen Kaahumanu Center.
ATMOSPHERE:
It’s a takeout counter with mall food court-style seating.
FOOD:
Chicken Katsu
Huge portion! It’s about 3 or 4 fillets, 2 scoops of rice and mac salad. The batter is tasty and not oily, and the mac salad is pretty good but not the best I’ve had. The katsu sauce is too sweet for me. I use a store-bought sauce at home which is darker and saltier.
BBQ Chicken
My go-to dish. I received 3 big boneless and skinless thighs, pounded flat, seasoned perfectly savory, flat top-grilled flawlessly, that resulted in juicy, fork-tender poulty goodness. Way better than the version at Pearl’s Korean BBQ, I might add. The 2 huge scoops of rice were sticky and moist, and scoop of macaroni salad had the right amount of salt & mayo. What a deal!
SERVICE:
Food service is quick and staff are friendly.
OVERALL:
Big portions, and competitive prices.

Chain style bbq. Chicken was dry but 3 stars because the portions are huge. The Seattle one is better.

As I am standing in line, patiently waiting to place my order, I notice a man sitting right inside of the doorway to the kitchen, in full view, I am assuming he is the cook. The man starts picking at his nose, it turns out, it isn’t just an itch, he is digging for gold, going to town in both nostrils. As I’m waiting, I’m staring at the food in the trays, then looking over at him, watching him, he’s oblivious. As I look back-and-forth again, still standing in line, I finally ask myself, are you serious? Wishing I hadn’t left my phone in the car. Initially, my thought was to point it out to the girl dishing up the food, as though it would make a difference or that any of the three workers would care? Disgusted, I finally walked away. There aren’t many places on Maui with Chinese(ish) food. Thanks for taking another restaurant permanently off of my list.O.

Tasty plate and good portions for the money. I had the #11 Kalua Pork, steamed rice, Mac salad and I was easily able to substitute the BBQ short rib for the pork/fish wrapped item….Yummy!

I ordered from Door Dash and the food was EXCEPTIONAL! Each item came packaged in nice compostable containers with lids , then indi individually wrapped in compostable bags so when i reheat the dishes will still be moist. The BBQ chicken was lean and moist and so flavorful.

It’s a place to go to for cheap eats. The menu is local Hawaiian style with a bit of American and Chinese. It is considered fast food and not gourmet. Nothing fancy but just food to fill your stomach for the price you pay. The portions a good amount for regular plates.

Ate at Kahului and Kihei locations ordered the same meal BBQ mix plate. Both locations very subpar on the food. Drowning food in teriyaki sauce doesn’t make it teriyaki bbq. They used to have great teriyaki but now don’t even waste your money.
