My wife and I were in the area and found this gem! A small, family owned restaurant with great service, great prices, and even better FOOD! Everything came out fresh and was delicious! The tripas were very crispy as we requested! The Gordita was loaded and the asada tasted amazing. The fish was fried to perfection and had great taste. You can never go wrong with homemade corn tortillas! I highly recommend this place!

Just tried this place for first time. Live about 5 min away and didn’t know this was here. Ordered Mexican plate w two enchiladas w gravy and a crispy taco, with a queso birria taco on the side, and kids had enchilada plates. Love they use real shredded cheese and not processed cheese like some do. Food was a bit bland but good once I added a little salt. Flour tortillas and salsa were the best I’ve tried around here. Meat in the birria was tasty and tender -could’ve used more cheese and sauce to dip. Service was great, she was very friendly and food came out quick, and the place has a great atmosphere. Will have to bring hubby and try other things!

Walked 3 miles for the San Antonio/South Texas staple of barbacoa and I was not disapointed. Fantastic barbacoa and menudo as well. Barbacoa had perfect mix of meat and fat for amazing flavor. 3 different salsas on table available and very rich. The broth of menudo was excellent with a spicy and sweet flavor. Tripa very tender. Both dishes well prepared with time and care. Excellent service with an offer of a coffee refill. Family atmosphere, very friendly. A an excellent San Antonio expierence.

Food was delicious! We ordered 6 tacos for $20, I had the 3 for $3.99 special bean and cheese, carne guisada and 2 migas a huevo a la mexicana. I also had some side of bacon. Saw extra bacon i thought I paid just for 3 strips but they gave me a little extra which was nice. Salsa was perfect, ordering online was easy too to pick up in case you cant call in. Looking forward to ordering again during my commute to work

I wish this place knew how to deal with people different from them. I know I showed up to a Mexican restaurant but I shouldn’t have hard & complicated service bc/ I don’t speak fluent Spanish & of another race. The cashier was talking to me stupid as if I didn’t know the difference between carne asada and carne guisada. They were pretty rude & seemed to be annoyed with me for small things that wasn’t a big deal. Literally you doing your job…I’m confused. Their carne guisada was dry & the meat was tough. The potatoes were pretty great. I saw reviews of people raving about the horchata & lemonade. I got the lemonade and it was horrible. I have had many agua frescas lemonade and it just wasn’t right. They must have used really bad lemons or water…so it tasted rancid & spoiled. I use to go to this location all the time when it was el Rincon de Maria…this was my first time here with it being changed. It sucked & I really don’t care to go back anymore. It’s just not the same even when it was el rincon de Maria.

Ordered through door dash. I got a full refund through them but my soup came completely spilled and the cabbage had mold. It’s boiled into the leaf. Do not eat here at all if you want to save your stomach.

Super friendly staff. The horchata and lemonade were freshly made and delicious. I had the mini alambre tacos and they were probably the best I’ve ever had. My husband had the torta and son had the beef fajitas. Everything was delicious. We didn’t have to wait to be seated and the wait for the food was reasonable. Overall 10/10 experience. Would definitely recommend ✅
