Lunch at Kasei on our last day in Ellijay was a wonderful experience. The fish was some of the freshest I have had in recent years. We were served by the owner, himself, and very well taken care of. The sushi was really good! I was amazed that they even had bluefin tuna, which I had not had for many years in America. I wish I could go back to Kasei again right now! Looking forward to going back there again on our next trip to Ellijay.

Biggest Shrimp EVER!!! Love this place it’s become my “must do” every weekend that I spend in Ellijay…….Get a “Lucky Cat” and hangout with Audrey at the bar and enjoy the gilligans island reruns on the tv ! Food is awesome , fresh and a beautiful presentation!

Our server was amazing! She was knowledgeable about sake and the information about the sushi rolls made a difference in other places we’ve been. The sushi rolls were spot on and the quality was perfect. Thank you for an amazing experience!

Updated to post a photo of their hours in case you are making the drive (their website shows different hours). The best sushi within a 60 mile radius…I drive this distance just for the sushi. The fish is very fresh, the chef is very serious about quality. I do wish they would allow takeout. I’d order extra to take home for midnight snacks if I could.
Once the sushi is handed off to the customer, it shouldn’t be the restaurant’s problem if the customer decides to leave it in a hot car for an hour. It’s ultimately the chef’s decision though.

LONG WAIT , I sat down for a good 15 min got my miso soup to be told there is no sushi available due to no more rice. I think a sushi place with no rice shouldn’t be open or atleast have a sign out front. The atmosphere feels low light and sad not a good place to hangout for long. Definitely do not recommend

Everything about Kasei is quality. The food was beautiful and fresh, the service top notch, and the atmosphere immersive. I really appreciated the decor, with the custom wooden entrance, and Speed Racer on in the background. I got the spicy tuna roll and the volcano roll. We got gyoza as well, but those got eaten faster than I could take a picture. Just a wonderful experience.

The food and service was great. I wish I could recall our waitress’s name, but she was awesome. The Char Shu was beyond delicious. That’s the Fuji mountain. Yummy.

We were thoroughly impressed with our experience at Kasei. From the variety of sake to the tasty sushi rolls and dumplings, everything was delicious! Our waiter was very friendly and the owner was incredibly knowledgeable about sake which made for an overall great evening for our group. We’ll definitely go back next time we’re in the area.
