If you’re looking for a delightful dining experience that marries the charm of an Italian eatery with the laid-back vibe of a beach restaurant, Benny Rappa The Italian Fisherman should be on your list! From the moment we arrived—despite the parking lot being full (a good sign!)—the short walk from the next block just built up our anticipation.
The atmosphere here is unique. You get the cozy, welcoming feel of an Italian restaurant, but there’s also a breezy, seaside energy that makes it perfect for a relaxing meal. The staff were outstanding, attentive and genuinely friendly, always making sure we had everything we needed.
Start your evening with a Blue Marlin martini. The flavor is both refreshing and surprising, making it a standout cocktail that sets the tone for the meal. For dessert, do not miss the Bennycello vodka. It’s a smooth and sweet way to end your meal, almost like a liquid dessert.
I ordered the linguine with white clam sauce, and I was blown away! The linguine arrived completely covered with clams in the shell. You could barely see the pasta underneath. Each bite was slightly briny, fresh, and full of flavor. The garlic bread, available for $2.50 at dinner, is warm, crispy, and the perfect companion to soak up every last bit of sauce.
Benny Rappa The Italian Fisherman is a gem. Even if you have to park a block away, it’s absolutely worth the walk. With fantastic food, creative drinks, and a one-of-a-kind atmosphere, it’s a restaurant I can’t wait to visit again!

Was recommended Benny Rappas by a friend for dinner and wasn’t disappointed. First walking in the atmosphere is awesome. Elegant and relaxing. The menus are lit up so you can see them perfectly the lights on the table are tiny lamps. The service was great and friendly. The food came out quick and hot. The menus changes weekly which is a great way to keep things fresh. The only downside I would say was the dish I got didn’t say anything about being hot or spicy and it had jalapeño in it. So for someone that doesn’t like spice I can see them turning away. Other than that I recommend coming here!

My family has been a huge fan of Benny’s since he owned Benny Rappa’s years ago, so we were beyond excited to have him back with a brand new restaurant! We got a reservation as soon as possible, and our experience truly exceeded our expectations. It felt like a family reunion walking in and being greeted by Benny and his wife, and that was just the beginning of our wonderful experience. The decor was cozy, with a beach cabin feel that was classy yet fun.

We started off with the red sangria which was very refreshing after a day on the beach, followed by the crab cakes, calamari, and garlic bread as appetizers. All were delicious, but I have to shout out the calamari as it was truly the best I’ve ever had-fresh, not chewy or greasy, lightly battered, with a sweet chili sauce which complemented it perfectly. Next came our salads, and I tried the blue cheese dresssing per a recommendation from a friend who said she loved it despite not liking blue cheese…and I agree, the blue cheese was definitely not overpowering in this dressing and was a great choice.

For entrees, we got the seafood lasagna, the chicken carbonara, the scallops, and the halibut francaise. All were exceptional!! My friend asked what my favorite dish of the 4 was and all I could answer with was “…all of them!” which is just confirmation that you can’t go wrong with any dish on the menu.

For dessert, we shared the limoncello cake which was a great lighter option, and the icing on top of a fantastic dining experience.

I can’t wait to go back to try more as the menu changes weekly (each Monday).

Welcome back, Benny!

Exceptional food! Very quaint and pleasing atmosphere. Friendly staff. The owner took time to introduce himself and was informative and pleasant to speak with. Definitely a place to experience and return to. This place will stay on our list when traveling in the area.

3rd time visiting Benny Rappa and the first 2 were outstanding
for the food and excellent service. In town briefly last week
and stopped by and had the seafood lasagna my favorite but was
really disappointed. Tasted like it was days old and probably frozen. Maybe it was a bad night but in restaurant business you don’t get many changes to make a good impression

The food is amazing but more so are the employees. The service was tremendous. The second trip they allowed us to bring our dog. They opened the second level seating, turned on the heaters and the service was still amazing. It’s a true family feel that you do not find many places but this is one of them. They did not have to accommodate us the way they did. It’s amazing to see a business
do the extras to make Dinner a memorable experience. 5 stars isn’t enough for Benny Rappa. Thank you to all the staff members, you were amazing. Most families have a favorites list, that are the must go when in town. Benny Rappas is now at the top of our short list.

We love Benny Rappa’s! We have been enjoyed his food at both of his restaurants and were so happy when he decided to open in Cherry Grove. The food is amazing and changes weekly, but I’ve asked to have one of my favorites in the past, and sometimes he can make it happen if it’s not on the menu. The atmosphere and great and the view from the upper deck is great! I love that they take reservations and are ready for you when you get there. I have never had anything less than amazing!

The vodka sauce on the seafood mare was bland pink water. The pork cacciatore, another “specialty” of the house was meh. Both were recommended as “specialties of the house” by the server. I would hate to have gotten something that was not a specialty. Really wanted to send the seafood mare back, but the overburdened server was absent for most of the meal. Earlier we had asked for a wine recommendation to accompany the 2 entrees we had literally just ordered & she responded by detailing & recommending other entrees, making clear she’d forgotten we’d already ordered. The cheap stools at the bar tables, where we often like to sit, were flimsy & exceedingly uncomfortable. The prices are far too heavy for the quality of the food & service. Had much better food & service at less ornate mom & pop Italian restaurants on the coast for a lot less money.

Cozy & charming little Italian/seafood restaurant! The food was excellent, with plentiful portions. The menu changes weekly so its always fresh! We had the seafood arancini balls with a creamy & rich lobster sauce, followed by a house salad, delicious bread (ask for the garlic bread! Its incredible!) And a rich, cheesy & creamy seafood lasagna. For dessert, try the limoncello cake. Its scrumptious! 10/10 we will dine here again.
