I’ve ordered out from this place at least 6 times, and the food is really good, but the service leaves much to be desired. The last 2 times I picked up my order, it was completely wrong. The first time I was supposed to have gotten a buffalo chicken wrap with fries, and they gave me something else entirely. The guy that answered the phone obviously didn’t speak English as a first language, and I had to tell him 3 or 4 times what I wanted to the point that I had to read off the menu to him everything that goes in the wrap. And it was still wrong when I picked it up. Then yesterday we were supposed to have had another buffalo chicken wrap and one of their other wraps (I forget the name off the top of my head), and the order was wrong again. I was supposed to have had sides of ranch as well, and when my mom asked if the ranch was in there with it, the girl who rang up the order said yes. We get home, open the box, and not only is the order wrong, there’s no ranch. Also note that while my mom was waiting for our order to get done, she saw someone dining in send their food back because it too was wrong. So definitely check your food before leaving. I think the main issue is that there’s a language barrier between the cooks/owners and the servers/customers. On top of that, they usually only have one girl waiting on the whole restaurant AND taking phone calls at the same time. Recently, I went to pick something else up, and the girl ringing up the order had to ask the cook 3 times, 3 different ways if the order was ready because he didn’t understand the question. Another issue is that they don’t ring anything up until you get there to pick up the food. I noticed the first time they got the order wrong, they also rang me up for the wrong thing. This place definitely has potential, but if they don’t get the service and communication problems taken care of, they’re gonna end up just like Gaber’s, the place that went out of business before these folks moved in. Italian Taste has been busy every day since they opened, but that won’t last if they don’t fix these issues. In the last week, they went from a straight 5 star review down to 3.8 because customers are starting to notice the same issues I am. I also saw someone else state that the waiters act like they hate their jobs, and yeah, they probably do! They basically have a whole restaurant to run on their own, and anytime a customer has an issue, they’re the ones that get yelled at, not the cooks/owners. I just hope they actually get tips and not just hourly pay. There are other similarly operated restaurants in the area (if you know, you know) that don’t allocate any tips to the servers at all. The owner gets everything while their staff gets minimum wage. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.
