This food is the best we ever tasted in the Hampton area and we’ve been to a decent amount of restaurants in this area. I think the traffic from Langley should come here for lunch to get food since it’s close by to the base.
The food is amazing, fried rice was cooked exactly right and the orange chicken had a kick but was very crispy and very good. The white steamed rice was even better. As kids would say these days the food was “bussin” aka amazing. We would totally eat here again and will.
For the people on the edge of eating here and not, don’t look at the one star reviews and give it a shot. I promise it won’t be a let down.
Thank you Shun Xing for the terrific food, we can’t wait to be back to get more.
This is my favorite strip mall Chinese food place out of them all in the Hampton Roads area, and I’ve eaten at dozens over the decades….
I also seen negative comments about the lady behind the counter. While she’s not talkative and hospitable, she’s not rude, unpleasant, or unprofessional in my experience and watching her interactions with others. She takes your order and hands it to you just without all the extra fakeness that some want and need while at restaurants. She’s never given me a reason to think I’ll of her.
Prices are respectable, and have only gone up $2 +/- from their pre Covid pricing. That’s not bad especially when taking into consideration that the cost of food, supplies, utilities, rent, and other overhead cost has risen substantially!
The four season is on point 4 meats great sauce and veggies plus white rice. Heaven at least to me.
We got the General Tsos chicken with fried rice and egg rolls, the curry chicken with lo mein, and a small bowl of hot and sour soup.
Overall, the food wasn’t bad per se, but it also wasn’t great. The hot and sour soup certainly was hot and sour — but it didn’t really taste like much else.
Our chicken entrees had a good texture, but were incredibly bland. I’ve made better tasting “Chinese-American takeout”-style Chicken with some store bought sweet chili sauce and a few spices.
Egg rolls were also very bland.
Maybe it’d be ok after a few beers… Or maybe more than a few.
Prices were decent for what we got. Service was good and fast.
