We love Surchero’s at our hometown, but this location is not nearly at the correct standard. Chicken had a noticeably worse consistency and complete lack of flavor, and the scoop was 2/3rds of the normal size— and I’m being generous with that estimate. The included picture was taken after maybe 2-3 bites were eaten. In addition, the toilet was filthy and covered with urine. Service was okay.

I want so badly to love this place more. The food is delicious. We placed an online order for pickup twice and both times our queso was left out and this most recent time one of our loaded bowls did not have sauce bc they were all out of it. Having worked in the restaurant industry and having access to those phones numbers from online orders I feel like a call was warranted to ask if another sauce was preferred to none. Each time I’ve called and gone back up to receive my missing items and the workers are super kind and get me what I’m missing but it should be a rarity not the norm.

Grand opening was today. A friend loved this Tex Mex when it was a different name before it was rebranded. Good portion of meat and a lot of toppings to add. Best thing if you get the burrito they have different types of wraps, they can grill it to get that nice little crisp on the outside, and even grill some veggies for the inside of the burrito. Two burritos and a drink with 18% tip came out to be $36 something which is a great price considering other fast food chain of this type.

UPDATE: This location has really gone downhill fast. The biggest thing is the A/C is always on full blast and it doesn’t appear that the heat is ever used at this location. The ingredients selection is always cross contaminated with ingredients being mixed from dropping them in each container. The tables are almost always not clean as well as them being out of at least 1 or 2 things every time you come in and the employees are less than accommodating as they simply say “Yeah we are out of (beans) or (rice)” like it’s no big deal.
For the higher prices on the menu at this Gainesville location, this location is sadly not the norm for Surcheros. I’m not sure if it’s simply a different owner than most, but this is not the usual at all and really a disgrace for Surcheros. Something will need to change or this location will sadly close its’ doors.

Here’s a trick/tip for you! Get the nachos in a to go box, chips on the side, and you get your best bang for your buck including a cheese dip! Give Surcheros in Gainesville a shot and you won’t be disappointed!

Ordered DoorDash and for about the tenth time or so in a row, they’ve forgotten something. Our chips and queso were left out and because of the ingredients being mixed that’s been mentioned in a few other reviews, my wife got a mouth full of cilantro which she can’t eat. She orders specifically to avoid that. I drove back up to the restaurant roughly 20 minutes after the meal was ordered and delivered to claim the missing chips and queso and I asked the staff if someone checks the orders before they go out. The best answer they could give me was “usually but we’ve been busy”. That’s not an excuse even if they were busy but it was likely just a lie to get me out of there as basically all of the ingredients were full and there was only 1 other person in there when I came in. This location was fantastic when it opened but as others have mentioned it’s gone downhill quick. Please do something here as we want to continue eating this great food, we just can’t justify it anymore when the care clearly isn’t there anymore.

Very poorly staffed and very dirty for a new restaurant. 2 teenagers running the whole place on a Sunday afternoon. Took us 10 minutes to make it through the line with only one couple ahead of us. It was clear the male was working and frustrated with the female workers speed and attention to things.
Dining room was disgusting. Every table was dirty, both lemonades were out and the drink machine was piled with trash.

Employee seemed to be getting frustrated that she couldn’t figure out how to re-run the transaction to take off an extra drink that we didn’t order after we tried to use an app reward before she tried arguing and loudly demanding that we “had to” pay for an extra drink that neither of us ordered. Weird situation as neither of us had done anything to warrant getting yelled at but I appreciate the other employee who ultimately did ring us up the right way and give us the correct total without getting mad at us for no reason

The chips are very stale, the food honestly tastes old and like it’s been sat all day. We recently ate at the Dahlonega locaction which was amazing. Found an odd textured piece in my nachos. Not a fan of this location at all. Chips were also not crispy and were oddlt bendy?
update: i returned and all of the tables clearly hadnt been wiped down at all, they need to stay on top of cleaning. The medium cheese dip i received was much smaller than the one i previously had been given 2 different visits but the girl said that it was a medium

The catering service I used for the first time, yesterday was superb. Order was correct, on time and setup service was top notch. I had not tried Surcheros prior to this order and was thoroughly impressed with the quality of the food. The meat and vegetable mix were chopped perfectly and everything was fresh. Kudos to Mickie, general manager!

I loved Surchuros and was excited to have one come to Gainesville. $15 for basically a bowl of rice is ridiculous. The five pieces of chicken that I have seen have been tiny not even an entire chicken tender would have been in my bowl. Will not return.
