All the negative reviews are from years ago, and it makes sense. I was curious about this place as its been almost 2 decades since I’ve had Jamaican food. So I checked it out last night.
This definitely hit the spot. Jerk chicken, beans and rice, stewed cabbage all with great deep flavor. Jerk chicken was slightly tingly, not melting my face. About the equivalent of a medium-hot wing sauce. The only reason I put atmosphere at 4 is because it’s a small little place. Take out only, and a bit cramped if more than a couple people want food. But they do a great job keeping it clean. Heck, I’m probably going back today to try their other stuff.
Go early if possible as the food can’t be made quickly. So once they’re out of something, that’s it for the day. Also bring cash! (ATM is available, though).

The restaurant is always clean, and the food is consistently fresh, which is why they tend to open later in the day. Due to high demand, food can run out quickly, but this isn’t a bad sign; it means the food is good! The staff can come off as strong in their communication, but they mean well. I know them personally, so while their directness might seem rude to someone else, it’s just their way of speaking. They get straight to the point. One downside is that they only accept cash, but there is an ATM available in the restaurant.

My first time in the restaurant. The wait time was short. The Jamaican food taste was average. I had Jamaican food with much more flavor. I would probably go again on a day that I’m in a mood for some on the go Jamaican food and try something different than brown stew chicken and cabbage and rice.

This is the BEST Jamaican food spot in Syracuse NY. Chef knows what he’s doing, it’s authentic, and the portion and pricing ratio is very reasonable. I’m confused how this place only has 3.8 stars?? It should be rated 5. Chef is a little rough around the edges but he’s Jamaican, what did you expect? lol he’s an amazing cook, and his wife is his wonderful partner in crime. The food is always fresh and made that same day. Once it’s gone , it’s GONE. Call and place your order ahead to secure your food. I’m telling you, this is THE spot to try.

This is the best Jamaican experience I have personally ever had and I love Jamaican food very clean. They do not throw food in a pot and mix it together. They clean it season it to perfection carved away all fat. Is super delicious

Been there 3 times so far. They are consistently fantastic. Meat is incredibly tender and flavorful. Their rice and peas alone is a reason to try them out.

We stopped in on 9/10/24. The food was great! The two owners behind the counters were wonderful and told us to stop in on Fridays when they have more from their menu available. The food does go fast! We were very lucky to get the last of the oxtail and curry chicken. It comes with rice, cabbage (which was soooo good) and plantains. We will definitely stop in again.

The stew chicken dish is delicious. But the owner only makes one pan of it and gives small portions of the chicken . I ordered the large portion for $18 and only received 3 little pieces of chicken the rest was bones .definitely not worth the money. very disappointed to say the least
