This is the BEST Chinese food I’ve eaten in years! I asked for spicy and they delivered! The sauce was nice and thick. Good portion size. Super nice people. We tend to visit at odd times so we miss the buffet time, which is fine. I like vegetables and there are not normally a large selection on a buffet. If I lived near here, I would be a regular.

I’ve been getting takeout from China One for years and generally been pretty happy about it but the last few times I’ve gotten food from there, I’ve been disappointed. I placed an order a few days ago and all of their prices have gone up by at least a couple of dollars. That’s a sign of the times. What really made me mad was that they raised the price on the chicken wings and now instead of getting 8 like you used to, you only get 4. $10 for 1 big wing, 2 medium and 1 pathetic wing is just a plain rip off. Also for some reason, after eating this last meal, my heart wouldn’t stop racing for at least a couple of hours. Not sure if it was MSG or something else, but I’ll think twice next time I’m craving Chinese food.

Not sure if we are eating at the same place but I had the beef lo mein and dumplings 2 nights ago and man it reminded me of greasy Chinese food from NYC. My husband who grew up here did say that they got better once the kids grew up and could communicate better with their parents on orders.

I ordered takeout and once I was home, I got a phone call from China 1, I wondered why they’d be calling me. They proceeded to tell me that I’d left my credit card there. Not only were they polite, but kind. I live in Dobson and it was past their closing time when I arrived to get my credit card. They could have used my credit card fraudulently, or even just not called me, but they did the right thing, and that is admirable these days.
With that being said, their takeout is the best Chinese in surry county when it comes to flavor, and their prices aren’t bad. I do miss their buffet though.

My family orders from here about once or twice month. We spend around $50 to $60 each time for a variety of items. This week’s order was not edible. The rice was crunchy. The chicken was very stringy and dry. The sauces were all overly salty. We threw away all of it. It was such a waste of hard earned money. Absolutely our last time ordering from China One. The building itself looks like it is being neglected and needs a really good cleaning. The front area is not clean. Even the credit card reader is caked with grime. I can’t imagine what the kitchen looks like in terms of cleanliness if the part the customers actually see is dirty. Used to be so much better. Not sure what has happened, but it is unfortunate.

This place looks VERY distasteful. Look’s as if things go down when closed. I ordered fried dumplings and THEY DEEP FRIED THEM The nasty taste of old oil was not it. If they can’t even make the fried dumplings right what does it say about the rest of the food? First and last time going. The lady at the register and took my order was very uninterested and not very pleasant. Was facetiming and talking the ENTIRE time. Was more focused on facetiming than what was actually going on around her.

Tonight meal was the worst I’ve ever had from China 1. They must have changed food providers. The egg rolls had lots of onion & very little Bok choy, the chicken fried rice had too many onions & very little chicken & the seame chicken was too hard to chew but the sauce was delicious. I will not be going back anytime soon

Had the bar. Limited selection. Some food was refrigerator cold. Not what we expected at all. Everything was self serve even flatware napkins and condiments. We had to hunt to find were things were stored. Lady was on speaker phone all during our meal. There was no way you could avoid hearing her conversation it was so loud you could hear the children on the other end if the call. Food was flavorful. But the rest of the experience was lacking. It was exceptionally clean.

Buffet is always fresh. They do a really good job of keeping the food coming, the option to serve your own drinks is fantastic and the price is really good. Best Chinese restaurant around.
