Cumin offers a flavorful Indian-Nepali dining experience within a warm & modern setting with attentive service. We tried the chicken momo, lamb madras, and salmon tandoori – all well-prepared and seasoned. The momo had a pleasant kick, the lamb madras featured a rich coconut curry, and the salmon tandoori was tender with a bright citrusy sauce. A solid and comforting neighborhood Lakeview spot for Indian and Nepali flavors.

This is my favorite restaurant in Chicago! Highly recommend, the food is amazing and the staff is attentive and kind. I always dine here and the food is just as delicious every time. Most days I get the chicken momos, chicken tikka masala, and palak paneer, and all are great! The mango lassi is also very yummy. The interior and atmosphere is very nice and calming—definitely a place you should try!

I went to this restaurant yesterday with my son – it was his recommendation. I was bit skeptical as my experience with Indo-Nepalese restaurants have always been bad. This one was just outstanding – the food quality, portion, flavor, the restaurant decor, cleanliness – scores 10/10 on all front. We ordered Paneer tikka masala and Navaratna Kurma with onion kulcha. amazing!!! One more restaurant for me to revisit.

I definitely recommend, though the service was a little off. The space is large and can host events (including a nice entry area that feels a bit like a hotel) and all our food was delicious. Chicken momo, samosa, chicken jalfrezi, naan, peshawari naan, paratha, and gulab jamun. Many of the items were packed with flavor (though I didn’t really care for the whole wheat paratha or the kashmiri pulau). Don’t sleep on the peshawari naan, it has a nice little savory sweetness thing going on: go for that instead of the kashmiri pulau here. Looking forward to coming back to try more of the menu!

This is hands down the best Butter Chicken I have ever had, please don’t change the recipe. I say this because I recently ordered from the Wicker location expecting the same quality, and it was just cubes of chicken breast with watered down sauce. So if you want good butter chicken from Cumin only order from the Lakeview location.

First review! I came here with my friend, we are the first dine-in customers and the service, ambiance, and food was amazing. I grew up in India and the food here tastes like home. I’ve also tried lots of Indian places in the Chicago area, this genuinely is at the top. Will be coming here again 🙂

I went with my family for a birthday dinner, and it was an amazing experience.

The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and looked fancy than other indian and nepali resturant here in Chicago i have visited. The service was fast, and the modern interior was impressive. I loved the restaurant’s decor, especially the Nepali handmade arts and crafts. The momo and naan bread were my favorites.

Highly recommend this place for great Nepali and Indian cuisine and to host a event and parties they have a separate space that you can book.

I had been wanting to try Cumin for a while and I’m glad that a friend and I did!

It is much bigger inside than I expected, plenty of room for parties of all sizes.

The service was great and you can tell they have a good flow going.

We tried the chicken momo and lamb keema samosas as starters. Both were delicious, especially when dipping in the provided sauces.

For our mains, we split the chicken madras, tandoori salmon with a side of basmati rice and garlic naan. We got the mild version of the madras, but I wish we had gotten medium. It was still delicious. The tandoori salmon was cooked to perfection and had a beautiful char on it. The rice was a perfect addition. You could tell the garlic naan was homemade, a must try in my opinion.

We finished with dessert; we got the mango kulfi and gulaab jaamun. The kulfi tasted fresh and you could tell it’s made with real mango. This was my first time trying gulaab jaamun and I was pleasantly surprised by it. It almost tastes like a mini donut in sugar syrup sauce.

Overall, everything was delicious. I would recommend checking them out!

We split all of this between two people and both ended up with small to go boxes. It cost $88 in total, which was also another pleasant surprise.
