Upon walking in we were astonished by the decor and atmosphere. And as for the staff, they are lovely. We ordered our appetizers and main dishes. The veggie samosa was decadent and crispy; The combination of the sauces it was amazing. Our main dishes were a lamb korma, and fish curry on coconut rice. The portion sizes are perfect. The rice comes in large, and the Naan is cheap, but don’t sacrifice the quality of the order. The food is very filling, I definitely recommend this place! Very affordable high quality and speedy services.

We had been waiting a long time for this restaurant to finally open, and it was absolutely worth the wait! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The staff were friendly, attentive.

The food was outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every dish we tried was cooked to perfection, and you can tell that a lot of care goes into both the ingredients and preparation.
It’s not often that a new place lives up to the excitement, but this one has exceeded our expectations. We’re so glad it’s finally open and can’t wait to come back again and again. Highly recommend!

Have had 2 take outs from this place already so far and it’s the best curry I have ever had. Staff are super friendly, inside decor and atmosphere are absolutely stunning, would like to eat in the restaurant next time! Im SO happy this place has made it to willow point. I can’t say enough good things about the food, staff and atmosphere!! I will be a regular customer to Masala Waves. Food is very well priced. Thank you for my tasty lunch today and super quick service (15 minutes!!!) 🙂

Ordered takeout chicken biryani and veggie samosas, they did not include side of raita and tamarind dipping sauce for samosa. I’m really disappointed as I was really looking forward to trying their menu.
Please note also that the biryani could also have used a garnish of cilantro and fried onions or sliced almonds to highlight this historic dish and give it the representation the biryani dish deserves. Unfortunately, this was omitted by the kitchen staff. I understand initial start up restaurants go through growing pain, but it’s worth noting that creating a lasting impression sets precedence, especially for multi cultural cuisine…this sort of precedence also recommends exquisite wine pairings to go with these dishes.
Food for thought (pun not intended)

We made reservations for 8 people for 12 noon. Only one other table of 4 were dining the whole time we were there. The waitress took forever to bring 1 chai coffee and 1 green tea. We had to ask for more water twice before we got a refill. All our dishes were served except for the rice which came approximately 15 min after our meat dishes were served. The food is very tasty however it should be served all together at the same time. The meat dishes are very small, chicken or lamb for 20.00 a dish. Not sure we will be back.

Good food, reasonably comfortable seating, lots of parking, acceptable service. We had a nice meal here. Loved everything except the overcooked / understuffed naan & the chai, which was very bland in flavour.

I was concerned that the menu has too many items on it, which often means that dishes are not freshly made. They should really pare down their menu offerings.

In terms of atmosphere, this place has zero atmosphere, zero decor, poor lighting choices, and is horribly noisy because of the bare walls & concrete floors. I think many of the reviews for this restaurant have been paid for by the business owner or written by friends / family members of the owners simple because people going on about the decor & atmosphere of this restaurant are not being truthful.

I sincerely hope this business succeeds in Campbell River because truly good Indian food is needed in this city.

That said, the owners need to seriously do some renovating to make this restaurant a great deal more comfortable & inviting, and a lot less noisy. As it is now, the interior reminds me of bench seating at an A&W.

I’d probably eat here again, but not sure I’d eat in. Maybe takeout.

Good luck to the restaurant owners.

My friend and I had a great lunch today. My first time at Masala. The service was great, the curries were unbelievable. Only thing that put a damper on it were two customers that were obviously trying to get a free meal. Keep up the good job Masala!

The first visit to this restaurant and an excellent evening. The best beef vindaloo we’ve had in a number of years! Delightful staff, relaxing atmosphere, tastefully chosen decor. Highly recommended for an authentic East Indian meal.
A definite 5-star experience!

Have eaten here twice since opening, reserving a review until after the second. As others have commented, the butter chicken is a tomato gravy base and sweet, but with little classic butter chicken creaminess, flavour, or classic spices. Even when requesting the next level up for spiciness (heat) the second time ordering, the dish remained the same, quite bland for butter chicken and lacking any spice level. Butter chicken is what most people order, so that dish needs an overhaul to be on par with the other 2 Indian restaurants in town. Once they do that, they should do well. Very nice to have another Willow point restaurant option. Interior is well decorated and service was very friendly.

The restaurant itself went above and beyond and covered skip the dishes complete screwup to replace our order, which they weren’t obligated to. Saying so, try the chili chicken! It was delicious!

You’re better off ordering for pickup and tipping what skip charges to ruin your meal. the foods going to be both hot and an excellent treat.

Proud of you guys, great first experience!
