More than a meal, it felt like home
I went to this newly opened Indian restaurant with five close friends, and what stayed with me wasn’t just the food — it was the feeling. This is a small, family-owned place with no flashy show-off, no unnecessary drama, just genuine, down-to-earth people quietly doing what they love: serving honest, fresh food with heart. Little did we know, they make the noodles and sauces, like mayonnaise and Schezwan, in-house.

From the moment we sat down, it felt different. The smiles were real. The conversations were warm. The food took time, and honestly, that patience reminded me of home cooking — the kind where nothing is rushed because care matters more than speed. Every dish that came to the table tasted fresh, comforting, and full of love. You could tell nothing was sitting around waiting to be served. It was made for us.

At one point, they shared how a false negative review had been posted, clearly trying to hurt their reputation. Hearing that genuinely made me sad — because after experiencing this place firsthand, I know how unfair that is. This is not a restaurant chasing hype or shortcuts. This is a family putting their soul into every plate. You don’t come here for perfection or showmanship — you come here for goodness, freshness, and honesty.

The ambiance is simple, and that’s exactly the point. No distractions, no pretending to be something they’re not. Just good people and fantastic food. And somehow, that simplicity makes the experience even more meaningful.

I’ve been living in Regina for 15 years, and I don’t say this lightly — this place has now become THE place for me when I want real Indian food made with care. It’s the kind of restaurant you want to see succeed, the kind you recommend without hesitation, and the kind you return to not just for food, but for how it makes you feel.

If you value freshness, authenticity, and people who cook from the heart, this place deserves your support.

First time felt the original authentic taste of Indian food in Canada. We were amazed by food quality and taste. Customer service is great too. Everyone should give it a try and I am sure you will be coming again and again. Thank you Food Mahal for such a great food experience.

Very disappointed with my Uber Eats order from Food Mahal. I spent around $80, and the naan was in terrible condition they were torn, dry, unevenly cooked, and looked old or reheated. Some pieces were burnt, others undercooked. This is not acceptable quality for the price paid.

I ordered veg momos and Manchuria last night momos were uncooked from inside . This is very concerning from a food safety perspective. I have photos . And for manchuria it’s all gravy only 3 pieces . Never going to order back and would suggest not to go . And I did wait for order almost 40 mints and it’s still not prepared well , so disappointed . It’s under Akul name and I am the one who was your last customer that day .

This was my first visit and I’m already impressed! I ordered kulcha and chaap, and both dishes were absolutely delicious. The flavors were rich and authentic, and everything was served fresh. Honestly, I was full but couldn’t stop eating because it was just that tasty! Highly recommend this place if you love good food.

Just discovered this gem of a restaurant in Regina, and I’m so impressed! The owners are incredibly welcoming and polite, and they’ve kept their prices really reasonable and affordable, which is a blessing in these times.

The server is always smiling, attentive, and makes you feel completely at home. You can tell this is a small family-run business that genuinely cares about its customers. Everything on the menu is made with love, including their homemade mayonnaise and Schezwan sauces—so you get a truly fresh and authentic Indian vegetarian experience without any shortcuts.

One unique thing I really appreciate is their half and full plate option. If you want to try something new, you can order a half plate for as little as $6, which is perfect for tasting multiple dishes without overordering.

Restaurants like this don’t come around often, and anyone trying to compete or create negativity won’t change the fact that this place runs on real care, love, and passion for its customers. Highly recommend!

We visted this place by accident & felt amused by the most authentic taste & affordable price. By the time i could write the good reviews about my 2 visits the 3 rd visit became a disaster! Chef changed ? He likes to tamarind everything. Everything was super super tangy ! Cant even make the soychap right.

Had a yummy supper here with the family. Had the buffet. Food was delicious. Our favourite was the Paneer. Brought out lots of extras fresh from the kitchen, roti, pakora, etc. We ended up with way too much food but they packaged everything up, including dessert, and sent it home with us. We had some questions and they were happy to explain and help us out. Came by to check-in throughout the meal. Even the chef came out to say hi. Will be coming back.
