BBQ done right! Food was fresh, delicious and falling off the bone. Online ordering was easy and food was ready when I arrived to pick up. 5-napkin minimum, roll up your sleeves and dive into their menu. Yum!

Great little eatery on a beautiful scenic route. Great pulled pork and sides for a modest price $15 -20 for a very filling meal. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

Chill hidden gem. Cool family runnin’ the joint. Deliciously creamy mac and cheese. The ribs were huuuge and I couldn’t eat the ribs by hand cuz all the meat just falls off the bone. Love that they didn’t come doused with sauce, I got to dippem in bbq. Onion rings were kinda weak and you don’t get many. The bbq was delicious tho. Worth the 5-minute ride instead of eating in downtown Brattleboro. It’s really a takeout joint but there are two tables inside and two tables outside.

Maybe their BBQ ribs are good?! I ordered the bacon chicken wrap with cheese and spinach – mind you the menu did not say that it was grilled – however, it came out that way and hey I guess if you like yours grilled that’s okay. But I was expecting it not to be grilled. My husband’s sandwich – well he said it was tolerable. You order at the counter and sit and wait, and wait and wait. Sandwiches are tolerable – baked beans are not bad. Overall – call in your order or eat at the pizza place before (or after this place) depending on the direction you are going) or maybe eat the ribs?! Order to go cause the place doesn’t much seating area and the place is not that comfortable

A Hidden Gem Near the Maple Museum
I recently had the pleasure of dining at this takeout spot, and it exceeded all expectations. It’s truly something to rave about. We indulged in the Chicken Fried Steak, paired with curly fries, mac and cheese, onion rings, coleslaw, and mashed potatoes—each dish was absolutely delicious. The highlight? Their gravy. It’s a must-try which I highly recommend trying on anything they serve. It adds a rich, comforting flavor that takes the dishes to another level.
The diner also offers a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere, complete with games to enjoy while you wait for your order. Conveniently located near the Maple Museum, this spot is a perfect stop for great food and a little fun. I highly recommend giving it a try!

My dad and I stopped here on our way back from the flea market, I’m always hesitant to try new bbq places cause the last place I ate at gave me food poisoning, But this place was amazing! Nice quick service and everything was amazing! . I got the half a chicken plate with, collards and Mac and cheese, cornbread on the side. I will definitely be back often.

It feels like a game nerd gathering place rather than a normal restaurant. Not so many tables to sit and eat (They do have few outdoor tables). Interesting layout with ping pang table, reading corner and band stage etc. The food is surprisingly good! We ordered rib and gmhalf chicken, very tender and delicious. Even with this take-out place, the owner was very nice and check on you constantly when we decided dine in.
I highly recommend you stop by and give a try when you leaf peeping. Way much better than that 6 min away restaurant called Pizzapalooza, if you don’t want a $20 Domino like pizza with cash only option, overcrowded place.

The family who owns this restaurant is as sweet as can be. Their food is also incredibly flavorful with generous portions! I usually have a meal for the next day or two after enjoying them. They’re an ultimate comfort food restaurant.

Wow!!! Smokin Js is one of a kind, MUST stop on route 9 coming from Brattleboro or Wilmington. Reasonably priced comfort food it’s the real deal, love and Bbq to go. Meeting the owners Kelly and Kent was a blessing in my day today. Their kids Lauren and Connor were rad too. Photos of my food won’t do much justice since I was too busy eating- but the rack of ribs meat fell off the bone deliciousness, the Mac and cheese was creamy goodness, and the collards were the real deal southern lovin. Gotta add in the brownie on top to just put it over the edge. Best food experience I’ve had in VT yet. Oh and there’s ping pong, chess and a free library!!! Support these awesome folks.
