We celebrated birthdays by getting dessert here (on 2 separate occasions) and thoroughly enjoyed their desserts (creme brulee ) & coffee. Our server, John, enabled us to enjoy the experience with his gracious hospitality, efficiency and friendliness. When you visit, ask for him and you won’t regret it!

We had my mother’s 90th birthday party here. No separate private rooms available, but we had two long tables set up and that worked well. We had only one server assigned to us but he was absolutely wonderful. Very organized, attentive and made the whole dinner quite enjoyable. Food was excellent. Plenty of parking in the adjacent lot.

We’ve been to DePalma Italian Restaurant multiple times, but our latest visit was very disappointing. The female server seemed completely uninterested in our needs and was not knowledgeable about the menu, especially regarding vegetarian options. On top of that, a pizza slice from the kids’ menu was burnt, and it took a long time to get a replacement along with the rest of our food. Overall, the inattentive and unhelpful service made us feel unwelcome. We hope these issues are addressed, as we’ve enjoyed this restaurant in the past.

The restaurant was gorgeous, and our server was initially very nice. This would soon change. The food was incredibly disappointing, with the tortelloni having very little filling and being quite undercooked. Their pesto was 50% unincorporated oil (this is not an exaggeration.) The meat sauce was acidic, bland, and overly salty. Maybe their other dishes are better, but would not recommend either of these. NOT worth $30. I brought up the concerns about the food to the waiter and asked for it to be passed on to the chef, and in response our server was extremely rude and dismissive. She told us “that’s just how we make it” and dismissed our poor experience. She was incredibly disrespectful and cut us off mid sentence, saying rudly “I’ll just bring your check then.” I was confused and surprised by this reaction, see she was initially incredibly nice. Turns out the service is not good, inattentive, and rude. I have never had a server respond this way when I’ve brought up issues with the food. Quite telling about the overall quality of service. This was a terrible experience in regards to food and service. DO NOT GO HERE.

I got some penne pasta and it was probably the worst pasta I have ever eaten. There was water in the bottom of my plate and the pasta was overcooked on top of that. It was a very measley portion as well. One of my family members got the Eggplant Florentine, and they said that it had way too much tomato flavor. Another family member got fettuccine alfredo and they said there was way too much pepper. However, the atmosphere was great, but the service was pretty bad. Our food took pretty long to get. Overall, DePalmas was very subpar.

I feel a bit guilty for rating 3 stars because nearly every visit before this one, I had a good experience with dining in. However, this was the first time that I ordered to-go and my first time having it since the pandemic started. I’m not sure I will ever order for pick-up again.

If I was rating the taste of the food alone, DePalma’s would always get five stars, hands down. I’ve had consistently delicious meals here, from the lasagna to the Pasta DePalma to the insalata cecilia / shrimp&scallop salad (always get the citrus jalapeño dressing) to the pizza to the shrimp primavera to all the desserts.

This particular instance, my family ordered seven meals, a combo of sausage and spinach Pasta DePalma, a lasagna, and a shrimp primavera, as well as some dipping bread. We ordered around 6:30pm and was told it would be about 45 minutes. No problem. When my husband went in to pick it up, he noted there was a long line. Again, no problem. We know DePalmas is really popular. When he got up to the register and told the cashier his name for pickup, he was rudely told that his order was on a different register, that they couldn’t ring him up there, and to step aside for the next customer. He then got ignored for another 20 minutes. When they finally remembered him and our food, there was no acknowledgement and no apology. Hubby, bless him, still gave a nice tip, but was not happy about the attitude, the lack of consideration, or the experience.

I was unhappy with a couple of the portions of the sausage Pasta DePalma. It seemed so much smaller than what I’m used to seeing when we would dine-in. There was a difference in the size of multiples of the same dish that we ordered.

My shrimp primavera was perfect.

So my rating is a three when considering the delicious food, the bad customer service experience, and the weird portions.

My husband got a to go meal at this restaurant earlier in the summer and had a really great experience. When we visited Athens again, he really wanted me to eat there. We went to the restaurant and received some of the worst Service we have ever had at a restaurant.

The waitress ignored us for the first 30 minutes, never apologized, then came to the table without water. She took our drink and dinner order at the same time, which seemed to irritate her. She only wanted to take drink orders, but we sat there so long we were ready to order everything. When she did serve us drinks she put her hand across the top of the glass touching the area you drink from.

In addition, her attire was so inappropriate for food service. She was scantily dressed in clothes several sizes too small. Her attire made us uncomfortable. However, the food was pretty good that evening. The 4 of us have discussed this outing several times since, it was such a bad experience.

But because the food was pretty good, we decided to do takeout again later that week. This time we ordered different dishes. My husband ordered the chicken scallopini, and there were no capers in his order at all. I only ate half of my pork medallions. Our cousin’s salad was delicious and had tons of capers in it. Go figure. When my husband arrived to pick up the order, he was directed to the bar. The only person at the bar was sitting looking at his phone and eating a meal. He waited. After a few minutes, past another employee came into the bar and told the person eating the meal that he had a customer waiting. The person eating and in their phone was the person that was supposed to get our order. He totally ignored my husband.

Overall my experience at the Depalmas was bad. I would not go back. It’s not an inexpensive restaurant, regardless of price I expect better from a service related industry.

Visited here today with two friends and had a lovely time. Drink was strong (peach margarita), service was great, and the food was absolutely delicious. Will return!

Update 3 years later: I still come here sometimes, visited again yesterday with two friends. Delicious food and the server was great. AMAZING calamari and the Shrimp Charmaine was worth the price, so good! Sadly the stuffed mushroom appetizer wasn’t so good and tasted old. But still a great experience!

I ordered a full lasagna for a birthday party and it was completely dry. When I was picking up he told me there was a cup of sauce for the lasagna, I thought that was great I would have a little extra sauce. Unfortunately that was the only sauce. The salad, pizza and stuffed bread sticks were amazing. Please make sure to ask about the lasagna in your Togo orders. This was at Timothy Road location. Want to add, please train your hostess… my daughter and I were walking with full pans if lasagna, salad, breads ticks and large pizza, and she sat on her phone not offering at all to open the doors. I was so disappointed
