Decided to try this out on a road trip after seeing other reviews/photos about the halwa puri. It did not disappoint!

The food was very simple (in a good homemade way) and flavorful. Would highly recommend!

The aloo sabji was slightly too oily for me, but I would still visit again. The family running this restaurant was very kind and welcoming too.

it’s a small, cozy, family-owned restaurant, and you can feel the love in every single dish.
I had a feast that was nothing short of perfection: the halwa puri was warm and comforting, just like something from a Sunday family gathering. The samosa chaat was a masterpiece of flavor, and it’s clear the ingredients are prepped with care and a deep understanding of what makes a dish truly special. The fried chicken was a surprise hit. crispy, juicy, and packed with that authentic spice blend you only get from home-style cooking. And of course, the lassi was the ideal finishing touch, thick, creamy, and made with a personal touch.
The whole place has a lovely Lahori Punjabi vibe, and you can tell it’s a labor of love. It feels like you’re being welcomed into someone’s home for a truly fantastic meal. If you want delicious, authentic food served with warmth and hospitality, this is the place to be. Samosa Hut is a true family treasure.

We went to Samosa Hut today. The dahi bara chaat I had was amazing, perfectly spiced, tangy and crunchy. My husband had a chai which he thought was a bit light on the chai color but it sure was freshly cooked and very hot as he likes it.
The environment was great. The music, the wall mural and the decorations were delightfully eclectic. It looked like a great place for friends to come together on a weekend afternoon.

I finally got a chance to try their Halwa Puri. Walked in a few minutes after they opened so seating wasn’t an issue on the wkend. Puri wasn’t drenched in oil and fresh. Chole were true to breakfast style and had great seasoning, usually a lot of restaurants will make chole they can use for entrees and serve that for breakfast as well, there’s a distinction. Halwa was good, not too sweet and good consistency. Coming from Jersey where we have tons of choices for halwa puri breakfast, this one did not disappoint as I’ve tried a few in CT. It’d be even better if they opened a bit earlier on the weekends.

We had an excellent experience at Samosa Hut! The food was exceptional – especially the Makhai roti and Saag! The owners made us feel very welcome and really catered to some food restrictions that we had which we hugely appreciated! It’s a wonderful homely space too! We couldn’t recommend it more!

Tried their aloo paratha, channa chawal, anda paratha, samosas, and halwa poori. Everything was excellent with well balanced spices. Really surprised and delighted to find authentic Desi food in Connecticut. Even better than Desi food in Queens NYC. A must try!

Disappointing experience. My samosas were barely warm, one was actually cold, and ridiculously greasy. They tasted okay I guess. The steak and rice was good, the Tikka masala was okay but the butter chicken was really bad. The price was okay but some of the food was wasted because nobody wanted to eat it. I don’t think we’ll be back.

Ordered a Zinger Burger combo, Chicken Over Rice, Veggie Samosa, Chicken Samosa, and Mango Lassi.

Fries were fresh, hot, crispy and lightly salted.
The Zinger Burger is definitely one of my favorite Chicken Burgers in the Hamden area.
The Mango Lassi was also made fresh and was delicious.
The chicken and veggie samosas with the chutney sauce were crispy, seasoned perfectly, with the right amount of spice and the sauce is a very nice pairing.
The chicken over rice was fresh, delicious, well seasoned and the rice was prepared well with a healthy amount of white sauce.

5/5 and I will definitely be returning to try more!

I’d just finished getting a manicure in the area, and walked by Samosa Hut. Decided to stop in for lunch, and oh my goodness, I’m so glad I did. I ordered the Chana over rice, and 2 chicken samosas. Everything came out fresh, hot, and very tasty. I’ll definitely be back.
