Reviews
I visited as a solo diner and sat at the bar. The restaurant itself is beautifully designed and has a nice ambiance, but the experience felt a bit uncomfortable. The place was mostly empty, and since there were many staff members around, I felt overly watched while eating, which made it hard to relax.
I ordered the fried rice tuna appetizer, and unfortunately, I didn’t enjoy it. The tuna flavor was very different from what I’ve had elsewhere, and the rice was less crisp and oily than I expected.
On the positive side, I did enjoy my passion fruit margarita, it was refreshing and well-balanced. The service wasn’t bad at all, just a little intense with all the attention.
Overall, it’s a nice-looking spot, but for the price and overall experience, I probably wouldn’t come back.
It’s ok to be pricy if you are offering good food!
While the restaurant offers an extensive menu, the font size is unfortunately quite small, making it difficult to read. Alternatively, customers can scan the menu using their phones.
The restaurant offers an impressive selection of cocktails and wines from Valle de Guadalupe. I personally enjoyed the lychee martini, although it was slightly too sweet for my taste.
We sampled several appetizers, including shrimp and vegetable tempura, baby corn yakitori, and bao buns, all of which were satisfactory.
For our main course, we ordered the hamachi roll, maguro roll, pork ramen, and assorted nigiri. While the flavors were generally good, the rice was overcooked and, in some parts of the roll, resembled tamales due to its excessive softness. It is our hope that the restaurant can improve its sushi rice preparation and seasoning techniques.
Overall, we had a positive experience at the restaurant. The service was excellent, and the drinks were enjoyable. However, we would likely return for the appetizers and drinks rather than the main courses.
We have dinner for 3. And a bottle of wine. It was ok, and of course we knew it will be priced.
I don’t mind to pay a lot for a great food but it too expensive for what they offer.
I know we also pay for the area and location.
The food ok. We enjoy but won’t deserve to come back.
The worst part was when the waiter comes to say you leaving tips only 750 (close to 15% ) bc he understood something wrong and order salmon and not belly salmon. And the guy come back saying (you are leaving less then 15% and we usually have minimum 20%) this is not even cover my service. Really weird, we ended up giving 500 more and he didn’t even say anything.
The Edamame was cooked perfectly, the Sake was pleasant, although way too expensive for what it is.
My disappointment really comes from the sashimi and the shrimp tempura. The salmon sashimi was tasty, but the yellow fin and tuna belly tasted like really low grade sashimi. The flavour and texture just wasn’t good. It didn’t have the wow factor that Sashimi should.
The shrimp tempura was way overcooked which resulted in a chewy experience, and the tempura batter was thick and greasy…a million miles away from true tempura.
This restaurant advertises as Japanese cuisine, but if you expect that then you will be disappointed. It is an expensive disappointment.
Oh and the big screen TV playing American rock…it doesn’t make the Sashimi taste any better.
