We are a local woman-owned cafe, run by a French pastry chef who loves to provide the community with non-boring breakfast and lunch options at a reasonable price, as well as handcrafted artisan chocolates:) Fear not, you can get your classics here like breakfast sandwiches, and lunch favorites like BLT, but you might also encounter more exciting specials like a fresh mozzarella, prosciutto and basil sandwich on a freshly baked baguette, or French apple turnovers hot from the oven for breakfast! We also bake goodies like Belgian chocolate brownies to satisfy your sweet tooth. We also offer espresso drinks with locally roasted coffee, and we make fresh orange juice to order. Catering orders from local businesses and neighbors welcome!

A truly charmant experience. From the moment you step into The French Door Café, you feel as though you’ve been transported to a small café tucked away on a quiet Parisian street.
I ordered the Dubai mocha, and mon dieu… it was absolutely magical — rich, smooth, beautifully balanced, and utterly indulgent. Every sip felt thoughtful and refined.
What made the experience even more special was watching her bake pastries fresh on site. This isn’t just baking — it’s art. Flaky, delicate, and clearly made with passion, love, and true craftsmanship. She is quite literally creating baking magic behind that door.

We attended the grand opening of this new French bakery and cafe, and I’m so glad we came! The service was excellent. Clearly the staff take pride in their work. With plenty of seating indoors and out, this is a great spot for one person or a group to meet for coffee, breakfast, or lunch. A variety of options means there is something for everyone here. I especially enjoyed the fresh squeezed orange juice!

Top 3 cafes on my list. California cafe hits the spot for a quintessential California cafe vibe. This girl must cook organic, cuz you’ll leave feeling satisfied and fulfilled without any guilt of getting your glucose shot up like with usually compared dishes or getting your immune rung up through the ringer from processed or “enriched” ingredients. You can tell she clearly paid attention in culinary school since she cares about quality.
On my first visit I had the tomato soup with a grilled cheese +bacon($2 added charge). The tomato soup seemed to be freshly made and the sandwich had 3 large crispy bacon slices on 2 large sourdough slices. Its snuggled inside a business complex, you’ll have the quiet rumblings of cars and on occasion small planes landing and taking off from Carlsbad airport next door if you sit outside. Inside sitting available. Great job ladies keep up the good work.

This beautiful French cafe is truly a hidden gem! The food is delicious, the ambiance is charming, and the customer service is exceptional. I’ve been there twice so far (once with a large group for a breakfast social and the second time on my own to pick up something to go). I love the orange blossom granola so much that I picked up a bag to go. I also enjoyed a latte, yogurt parfait, Nicoise salad, and a very special chocolate hazelnut beignet! Tout est délicieux!

We just had The French Door Cafe cater an event for us. Their food was OUTSTANDING! The quiche absolutely delicious and the side salad and pastries were so fresh. Truly some of the best bakery we have ever had! They agreed to cater for us on a day where they are typically closed, their delivery service was warm and friendly, and most importantly their food was amazing. Our guests raved about everything! I highly recommend them!
