Friday night some girl friends and I decided to check out a new place for Mexican food. I was so delighted with our amazing server Enrique and the delicious food! He started the meal by bringing us salsa and a delectable white queso! Then we had perfectly flavored frozen strawberry margaritas. Main courses were all so good we couldn’t decide which was the best. Another highly recommended location for a date night or family gathering!

Dropped by after delivering some trucks in Weyers Cave.

The parking lot was one of the cleanest I’ve seen in a while.

Upon entering, I was greeted ans seated quickly by Enrique.

The dining area was clean and inviting. The atmosphere was calm and relaxed.

Chips and Salsa were brought out. The chips were tasty and crispy. The salsa was great.

There was a salsa bar with a good variety of salsas from mild to hot. The tomatillo salsa was my favorite.

I visited the bathroom. It was clean and well maintained.

The menu was filled with a great variety of dishes. I ordered the Chile Colorado plate with flour totrz and an Agua de Jamaica.

The Chile Colorado was outstanding. The pork was tender and delicious. Well prepared with a not too spicy red sauce. The beanz and rice complimented the meat well. The torts were soft and fresh.

My Agua de Jamaica was refreshing and not overly sweet.

Overall an EXCELLENT MEAL!!

If you want some great Mexican food be sure to stop by!

If hospitality were an Olympic sport, Freddie at Los Primos would be bringing home gold for Staunton.

From the moment you walk through the door, you get the sense that you are not just another table passing through the evening. Freddie has that rare ability to make every guest feel like a regular, even if it is your first visit. The service is attentive without hovering, warm without ever feeling forced, and delivered with a kind of effortless joy that you simply do not see very often anymore.

The food absolutely holds its own. The fajitas were fantastic, arriving hot and full of flavor, the kind that turn heads when they pass by the table. And the salsa offerings are wonderfully varied. Each one has its own personality, giving you plenty of reasons to keep going back for just one more chip.

Los Primos delivers everything you hope for in a great Mexican restaurant. The atmosphere is lively, the food is satisfying, and the experience feels easy and welcoming. But what makes the place memorable is the people. Freddie is a top tier talent in the service world and the kind of professional who quietly elevates the entire evening.

If you find yourself in Staunton, make the stop at Los Primos. And if Freddie is working, consider yourself fortunate. Restaurants run on food, but the great ones run on people like him.

Five stars without hesitation.

This a new restaurant. We went for the first time. They didn’t have their liquor license yet so didn’t have any margaritas. The food was delicious. They have salsa bar and we ordered guacamole that’s delicious. I had Birria tacos. Some places smothered in Birria sauce, they didn’t. On the side. Chicken burrito is what my wife had. I highly recommend you try this authentic Mexican restaurant. Beautifully decorated atmosphere.
Reasonable priced food.

My wife and I had a great experience at Los Primos Mexican Grill. The restaurant was clean, and even though it was busy, the service was fantastic. Our waitress was on point the entire time — super attentive without being overbearing. We both ordered the Chicken Chimichangas, and they were absolutely delicious. Portions were good, and the prices were very reasonable. We’ll definitely be back!

I would have loved to give five stars, but the food just didn’t seem up to par. The meat was dry, and rice had no flavor.

As far as the service, it was top notch. I found the restaurant clean as well as the restrooms.

I will give them another shot another time and hope the meal is better.

I believe they opened a few weeks ago.

I went to this restaurant and my order was to go and when I got to my house I open my tacos and my tacos didn’t have any cilantro just onions they didn’t have anything taste to them the hot sauce they put on there wasnt any good. They put the chips to go without and sauce and they didn’t even bother to give us silverware for our order and I had ask for lime when I was there yet they forgot to add it to my order the Churos didn’t have any taste to them they looked nothing like the picture and had no taste to them The only thing good there was the drinks…….

I have eaten at Los Primos twice now with friends. The first time was the day they opened and the service was good as was the food. They immediately brought out the warm chips and salsa and asked if we wanted queso which we did. I like Mexican food and it was well prepared and they even have a salsa bar for you to go get pico de gallo and various salsas for your food if you want more than what they bring or want to try something a little different. I was there with a teen who really enjoyed the food.
We were greeted at the door when we came in and immediately seated both times. The second time we had a 3 year old with us. It was around 6 on Saturday, July 5 and we needed a booth and got one even though the restaurant was busy and filling up quickly. We were given ample time to decide what we wanted after our tea and sodas were brought to us. Our orders were taken, and one order was not quite right when served and it was quickly fixed and brought back to our table. Our waiter checked on us frequently and when we ordered dessert to go–it was fixed quickly. The food was really good–my friend and her daughter loved the steak and the 3 year old got a steak quesadilla and he ate every bite of his plus some of his Mom’s steak, too. Definitely on my list of places to go on a regular basis. I really enjoyed the friendly service and not feeling rushed after being served. Prices are not that bad and you can eat in there for $10 to $20 depending on what you order.
Definitely good service and food plus the restaurant is freshly painted and very clean. I will be a regular as will my friends.

I’ve only ordered delivery and it was exactly as advertised. Premium Mexican food. Chorizo is the best I’ve had around here, dry and flavorful and not greasey. Picante paste that comes with it is primo Guacamole is fresh and not over bearing all though I like mine a little more seasoned. Its our go to Mexican food delivery now
